lol me give you a plunnie? you'd be stuck with them forever after! but it depends on what you like, i only read manga for Naruto and Inuyasha, I've watched plenty of shows but there's only 4 that i can stand the idea to Xover with, IY, Bleach, Naruto, and DeathNote, with small bits of YuYu Hakusho, and maybe DBZ.

there's a enough similarities between characters, and some times plot lines to make anything really work well with those. But with a lot of those shows/manga you have a LOT of possible pairings.

Well, there is a bit of a point there, true.

Hopefully, there will be another chapter of Chain BEFORE my thesis is done, the seminar during which I'm writing it lasts the whole autumn term, and the deadline for the final version of my thesis (before printing and publishing it) will be in March. I'm around 1,500 words into the chapter (chapter minimum length being 5,000 words). I hope I won't take as along as I did with the last chapter, but at the same time it's really hard trying to channel a resentful teenager, let alone trying to talk him over into gradual acceptance. I'll try to work on it!

I think that's a good thing! It is always useful thing to know other languages. For us it's a given that everyone learns at least English (and Swedish). No one really speaks Finnish outside our borders, so it's really a necessity these days.

I think here it depends much on what you study. My major only accepted 24 people in per year and the number of minor students was limited, too. So it was easy to have such small classes. Besides translation relies much on practice, so it can't really be properly taught on a mass lecture.

Yeah, I study English translation, and our professor's amazing, she's really nice and always excited about everyone's thesis subject.

That is true for mass lectures, you don't have to show up (and most don't), but in my major we had a lot of small-group courses (like only 15 people/class) where attendance was mandatory. So there are still some diligent college students!

Thanks! It's not nearly as bad as it sounds. As a freshman in university the mere thought of writing a 60 page paper (in English) was very daunting. But it can be almost fun at times. Of course it helps that I'm writing about something I'm personally interested in, manga scanlation.

Oh, I kind of have that too, but usually it just results in typoes for me.

I've taken German too, but I would mix that up with Swedish (never studied French). For awhile I always had the classes for them one after another, which only made it worse. Writing an essay in Swedish right after having a class in German... stupid brain is stupid.

Well, I suppose that proofreading TT will start to look really tempting when the deadline for my thesis will draw closer. That is how it usually goes...
