I have decided that i want to give people a chance for writing lemons. in 2011, i'm going to make it 3 lemon challenges, that's it. a tri-annual lemon challenge so that people have a lot of time to work on it. I've made up a bit different system for demon aging - though I'm NO mathematician. But I've set it up so that 500 years old, Yoshimaru would be 17-ish. He wouldn't be an adult quite yet, but he'd be old enough to understand. I've kinda planned that when he was 5-10 he was really curious and practically eating up all the stories Kenichirou, Izumi, Kimiko et al. had to tell about his parents. When he would hit his teens around 12-14 he'd have a bit more rebellious phase, during which he'd also start to feel a bit hateful towards being abandoned like he was. Until at last when he'd get to around 16, he'd finally start to understand that Kagome really was thinking about him, too, when making the choice.
To me, at least, that sounds like a realistic enough development.. -shrug- But the haters are free to hate.

I was not planning for their son to hate them, though according to the criticism I've been receiving it would be very unrealistic of me not to have the child hating them...
But unrealistic or not, I want my happy ending. -shakes fist-
Feedback from sugar0o who lurks: nah i've thought it through, if sess is 900+ years old and is about 20ish, lets say 950 for good measure, then in 500 years, when things have changed, and there doesn't NEED to be such a ruling class system, their son would be like...10.5 years old youkai wise. far too young to be a proper ruler, and still a forgiving child. Plus i imagine that time would not truely keep them away, and with Sessmomma and the Eastern Heir about, i cant say that they wouldnt tell that boy how hard it was for kagome to make that choice. AND i don't think they'd set up shop that far from home, mostly b/c sessmomma is still "mother" and they wouldn't want to be far from their kid, sess and kagome to help protect him even i they can't be a part of his day to day life. so... i get it :3

Hey r0o! I was just reading your note about The True Measure of a Man. I don't have any intentions of making it a long fic, though I do have a sequel planned called The True Measure of a Woman. I haven't started it yet, because I'm just not sure where I want to go with it, but I'll get it out eventually. As for As the Playground Turns, glad you liked it!
