*Minor corrections 5/18/06* Kagome dies in the Feudal Era due to a tragic mistake in her own time at the age of twenty. Sesshoumaru mourns the loss of his mate and their unborn pup over the next five hundred years, but manages to keep the grief at bay by raising Shippou, protecting the descendants of Rin (Kagome's family), guarding the sealed box containing the complete Shikon no Tama, and holding on to the hope that Kagome's soul will return to complete what she failed to in her former life.
