Challenge:

Fan fictions based off of songs chosen from each decade starting in the 1920's. Once a week for 4 weeks, I will post a song from the chosen decade.

***I will post the prompts early(around midnight or 1:00 am (Pacific Time))on Mondays***

Rules:
*Out of each set you must so at least one in order to get that weeks banner.(There will be a special banner at the end for everyone that does all of the song prompts)
*Any rating is okay, please mention, however, if it is M or MA.
*It may be a drabble, chapter fic, or one-shot collection.
** Drabbles are 100 words exactly, One-shots must be at least 1,500 words, and chapters must meet the minimum Dokuga requirement.
*You may use the whole song as a theme, a piece of lyrics, or the title.
*Please have a disclaimer for the songs.
***This challenge will be open until August 30, 2014

Do the prompts have to be in order?

I was wondering if I could do a dream sequence for this song, and have her wake up in a terrible reality, like have the fic have a dark overtone, with that being the 'silver lining' as that is the name of that album

Only in the decade sequence. You can mix the prompts within each decade, but the decades need to go in order.

For example, "Week One, Week Four, Week Three, Week two" is okay because they are all within the 1920's, but 1920, 1960, 1940, 1980, 1930 is not. Does that make sense? O_o I hope that answered your question.

I have a few questions.

First off, could you please put the names of the songs that you've revealed in the first post? It makes it easier to find them when looking for the prompt.

Second off, do I have to do all the prompts within in the certain decade before the first prompt of the next decade to count as doing them all?

Thirdly, this challenge in whole has an end date in August. However, your challenge runs through November with multiple prompts in the month. My problem with that is NaNoWriMo runs through November as well and can be pretty demanding. For those that participated in NaNo, or just in general, can you extend the final end date a little?

To your first question. I just did it, I hope that it makes it easier for you.

Secondly, I am unsure on how to answer your question. The decades have to be in order. The songs within the decades can be mixed up however. If you fall behind two weeks and you are wanting to do all of the prompts you are able to submit the ones from the past weeks before the new decade. As I stated, I am unsure of your actual meaning behind the question. Sorry, I have a hard time answering sometimes, but I hope I might have, maybe, answered? Let me know if I did not and I will try my best to answer it.

Thirdly, do you mean this month? There is not a cap on the 4 weeks, you can always submit after them as long as it is before the end of the next August. I can extend the deadline a little, however, if that is what is needed.

I hope I covered all of you questions, if I didn't please let me know and I will try my best to answer them.

No, you don't have to post all 4 prompts/songs in a decade before I post the next decade. The only thing I ask is that you keep the decades in order. I know that I might be confusing and I am sorry. :/ I am not good at writing out responses sometimes, it all makes sense in my head...but then I write it and I look at it like:

Yes, the decades have to be in order for you to get the banner. The songs within the decades do not have to be in order though. If you choose to join I really look forward to reading your posts.
