I would be lost without you

You will always be my necessity,

I’d be lost without you—Cream in my Coffee Cup, Annette Hanshaw

Kagome had been beaten for hours, she refused to answer any of Naraku’s questions and her recent meeting with her dream lover had given her the courage to be defiant and some of her passion had sparked back to life, something that Naraku had noticed.

He had asked her if there had been anyone here, anyone that had shown her kindness or gave her hope.  She had replied ‘no’, that no one had been in there.  But it wasn’t good enough for Naraku.  He made sure that she knew that she was being moved.  But upon asking where she was being moved to he had seemed reluctant to tell her.  She responded to him by asking who she was going to tell.  He finally told her that they were moving deep within Sengoku Jidai, they were moving somewhere near Mount Hakurei.

She sighed mentally in relief at the location.  But Naraku wasn’t done beating her and she had to endure more hours of torture.  Finally, about mid-day she felt herself slip into unconsciousness and surprisingly he was there.  But he was never there in the middle of the day, only at night.  He had always told her that it was too dangerous.  So what had changed?

“Are you alright?”  His frantic words reached her ears as she rushed into his arms.

“Alright enough.”  She responded honestly she was just happy that she was able to see him.  She didn’t know what she would do if she had to go without seeing him.  Surely she’d be lost, mad or dead.

“I am sorry Kagome, but I do not have a lot of time in which to speak with you, I do not want to arouse his suspicions for appearing to you in the day.  Is there anything that you can tell me about where you are?  Are you being moved?  Anything that can help find your location?”

“Yes my love, he is moving me as we speak.  He told me were going far in, something about being near Mount Hakurei.”  She whispered as she kissed him deeply.  She had missed him far too much and she just needed a kiss, a bit of strength to get her through.

“At least I know that much.  I am endeavoring to get you out of his clutches as soon as possible, my Kagome.  I am afraid you may have to suffer much in my absence.  I may or may not be able to come to you tonight, but just know that if I am not able to that I am thinking of you.  I will get you away from the treacherous hanyou.”  Sesshomaru spoke and watched as the distress rocketed through her body and her eyes flashed briefly in pain.   “Do not worry so, I will check in with you as soon as possible.  I just need time to prepare and try and find you without being found out in the process, Kagome.  I do not want him to kill you because he finds out that I am the one looking for you.”

“But why is that?  Why would he instantly kill me if he knew that?  Why is he so scared of you?”

“Because besides you, this one is the only one that has the power to irradicate him.”

“This one…?”  She trailed off questioningly.

“I’ve already said too much.  I have to go.  Have faith, Kagome.  Know that I will be your strength and be brave for me girl.  Do what must be done to delay him until I can get to you.”  He said as he seized her up for a passionate kiss before disappearing completely.

“Good bye…”  She whispered as she felt herself fall into regular sleep.

*!*An unknown amount of time later*!*

Kagome felt herself being roused, unwillingly from her slumber.  There was something wrong, there were softer hands handling her and she found herself being coating in something quite warm.  As her dull blue eyes opened she found herself in Kagura’s arms as she helped her into a hot spring.   The wind priestess appeared to be quite naked as she cradled Kagome to her breast.  Her eyes flashed in anger and conviction as she pushed the wind priestess away, in the process catching of glimpse of the great spider on her back.

“Well, well it seems Naraku’s favorite toy is awake, and it seems like you have regained some of your liveliness, he will indeed be pleased.”  Kagura’s empty haunting voice resounded out, the very sound stirred Kagome’s blood.

“What are you doing?”

“The Lord as asked you to be bathed.  Since we have arrived and are in a more stable location he has decided to allow you a room and not to be chained up for all of your stay.  I would cooperate if you knew what was good for you.”  Kagura hissed to which Kagome only cleared her throat and lowered herself into the water, letting out a loud gasp of pain as the hot water touched all of her wounds.

“Fuck.”

“Language miko.”

“Go fuck yourself Kagura.”

“Seems you haven’t had all the spark taken out of you after all.  What caused that I wonder?”  Kagura said in a way that made Kagome suspicious of her.  But at the moment she was just enjoying being able to bathe and get the dirt and grime and sin off of her body after three months.  “I will return for you with clothing shortly, do behave.”  She said as she disappeared.

Lover…Kagome thought as she pulled her knees up to her chest.  …I miss you, please hurry.  I fear for what Naraku has planned for me now.
