I just got an email from a mister Jeremy Crawford (jeremy.crawford27@yahoo.com)
He asked me if I wrote fanfiction then asked me if I would write a an nc-17 rated story for him. When I ignored him he proceeded send a bunch of profanities to the point where I had to block his email just to get them to stop.

Any one else had to deal with this jerk?

I have this feeling that you might have received that because you have an email address on your profile on ff.net... maybe? I'm pretty sure that they couldn't have gotten off our site, so that probably accounts for it.

Sorry you have to deal with that, but ff.net is really a strange place, y'know??

Nope, the email that I posted on ff.net isn't my personal one (which is the one where I received the message from the creeper)
but I just google searched him and apparently I'm not the only one he's trying to get stories from. jeremycrawford.livejournal.com/

Apparently this guy joins yahoo groups and the like and finds people that way.
So I guess this could serve as a warning to other people just to immediately block him if they get a message from him,

FYI, I received a similar email but it it linked to InuyashaFanfiction.com and not FF.com. I emailed the mods there (for what good it will do...)

I got an email from him also. I'll just ignore him from now and toss him in the junk mail.

Thankfully, I haven't gotten an email from said jerk. But seriously, if he has the time to email fanfic authors at random, then he definitely has the time to WRITE HIS OWN FANFICS.

How did he get your email? It would be one thing if he contacted you through ff.net PM because that would mean that he has to have an account with ff.net. He could be reported to the site's mods, for what good it would do. But if he is contacting your personal email directly, blocking him is probably the best you can do.

Personally, I follow the rule that if I don't know who sent the email, it goes directly in the trash. I don't even bother opening it.

This guy is seriously creepy. I'm thinking that he's probably just a mentally ill person. Honestly, I can't stand people like him, though I can't see him quitting anytime soon.

O__O Whoa that really is disturbing. He never trolled through the yahoo-groups that I was part of years ago, but that was mostly in a comic-exclusive fandom.

I have encountered a person like this on FFNet who pestered me about writing fanfiction for them. I did one, although I combined it with another challenge prompt, though it was not MA, only rated M, and based in the Inuyasha-verse. This person also had a tendency to ask repetitively for Inuyasha fanfic recommendations on FFNet. I, in the end, out of sheer frustration, banned their FFnet Username, since they would only contact me through PM.

I do not list my location or email addies on FFnet either. So the person I mentioned above, was not 'Jeremy Crawford', merely to me at least a persistent user of the FFnet PM-feature.

I generally opt for the route of caution through PM, and IM. If I do not know you. You get an auto-reject for asking to be added to my IM lists. I might read a person's instant message, but if I do not know them I do not respond. In the instance of Jeremy Crawford, I can honestly say that I have never been contacted by this person, or asked to write fanfiction by them.

Although now, thanks to this post on Dokuga, and many thanks to those that replied, I will be on the look-out.

You could try reporting him to yahoo for spam, if he's being too upsetting/vitriolic in his harassment.
