NaNoWriMo 16 Years ago Karma: 28
A friend at college recently brought NaNoWriMo.org to my attention, and now I'm curious: Has anyone here ever attempted it before? I was thinking of giving it a not-at-all serious go this year, just to see how much crap I can write before I crash and burn.

I'm considering it. I'm not prepared to start an original story at the moment, but I'm thinking about doing a kind of 'fanfiction melee' Nanowrimo, where I churn out as much as I possibly can--not necessarily all for the same story, but if I can I'll try to concentrate on one (I have to cater to the ADD of my muse). It's supposed to help people who are kind of "stop and go" writers to learn how to really get rolling.

Of course, since you have to forgo editing till you're done, it'll all be crap hidden away from the world until such time as I can go through it afterwards and make it presentable. ^_~

it might be nice to just write and not have to worry about editing.

I know, right? Usually I fight with myself over how out of character I'm writing or how trite/cliche my ideas are, but if I force myself to just WRITE I think it might be kind of fun.

Hmmm, this does sound very interesting. If I wasn't working on three fanfiction stories already, I would most likely do it!

As it stands now, I will definitely think about thinking about it! I'd love to write without having to edit!

Attempted and reached the goal in 2006. 2007 wasn't so great for me with only 5k words, but this year I plan on winning again.

This year will be my first attempt. 50K words probably won't yield the best story, but I'm going to give it a try to see if I can do it.

I have never heard of this before, don't know why. It sounds really interesting, I may just try for myself (I know for a fact that it's probably not gonna happen, but w/e). *^_^*

I am planning on doing it next year. With two chapter stories going now, I don't have the time or energy, but it sounds really fun. Good luck to any and all who are attempting it!

You go E_O_S! Congradulations on winning last time! Good luck!

I think I may try it myself next year!
