So I recently read a completed fic where Sesshomaru has been cursed as a dog until he finds "true love". He has been a dog for over 500 years...he thought his relationship with Rin wold break it, but when it didn't he left.

Kagome has been back in the modern era and not doing very well...when she finds Sesshomaur she names him Yuki...her mother starts to become concerned when Kagome starts to think that Yuki is Sesshomaru. Kagome's mother leaves Sesshomaru (as a dog) on the side of the road at one point, and also tries to bring him to the poun(?) but Sesshomaru runs away to Kagome.

Sesshomaru does become himself again at one point, but asks to be returned to a dog until Kagome loves him. Sesshomaru (and later Kagome) discover that Ayame is really Shippo, and has been this way in order to keep an eye on Kagome.
