Almost all the time, I carry around a sketch book in my bag/purse. I hate it when I have an idea, and then I lose it, so I try to sketch something down, no matter how messy it is.
Sometimes , there are several mini-sketches on a page of my sketch book.  Kinda like this--> www.dokuga.com/gallery?func=detail&id=46
It's a good way to practice, so i suggest you keep a sketchpad with you if you love to draw and draw whenever you have spare time. It's a great creative release.

I love seeing rough sketches. I don't know, but sometimes, it has more appeal to me than a finished piece. You can even just take a plain old picture. (I don't have a scanner as well, but i'm saving up for it. Just waiting till i finalize my move to guam, then i can focus)

Sesshoumaru has always been protective of Kagome, even at that age. lol. I'm glad you like it.
I agree with you about rough sketches. I don't know what it is, but they do seem more appealing sometimes. I guess it's because we get a very brief "behind-the-scenes" look before the finish? Hmm... |

I'm a big fan of Art Nouveau, and was doodling a pic of my character Shrii and let some of the Nouveau influence show. It's a mix of styles but I like it. It's rare that I do any animeish art lately.
I have a few ideas for some Sess/Kag pics like this as well. Though most like better.@3@.
