Today’s Prompt is “Tomo-choco.”

On Valentine’s Day in Japan, females give chocolate gifts to the people around them. On White Day March 14th, the men return the favor. There are three types of chocolate gifts given on Valentine’s Day.
Giri-choco or obligatory chocolate is given to their superiors and male co-workers and other men she had regular contact with.
Honmei-choco or true feeling chocolate is given to the men whom the giver has romantic feelings for. This chocolate, often handmade is of superior quality.
Tomo-choco or friendship chocolate is given to female friends. This is less common than the other types of chocolate.

Today’s Prompt is “Verses.”

Verses are lines of poetry and are commonly written on valentines cards.

Banner:

Poem on the banner was written by me in high school, it is entitled "On Rose Colored Wings" for those that are curious the words are:
From shadows the soul might break free
Like a bird on rose colored wings
A joining of soul and body
Like the mythical phoenix, forever eternal
On rose colored wings
Fluttering ever higher
Regardless of sun or snow
Blossoming, a dandelion might be a rose
Dreams come alive, Fears pushed aside
Trials swept away by rosy feathers
Perhaps young shall be raised and fledged
Destined to carry on promises untold
Hardships over come, shortcomings ignored
Soaring nobly on rose colored wings
Past the Rainbow Bridge, to a meadow
Death cannot break those bonds

Today’s Prompt is “Apple.”

Apple was chosen as a reference to a traditional French signal of acceptance. The July 1956 issue of the journal Western Folklore reported: “a young maid lets her swain know whether the answer is ‘yes’ or ‘no’ by what she feeds him on St. Valentine’s Day. It's a custom that goes back for centuries. Any egg dish, for example, definitely means No! On the other hand, an apple or pear means Yes!”

Thank you for all the entries so far.

Today’s Prompt is “Lupercalia Festival.”

According to some historians February 14 was deemed to be the Saint Valentine’s Day as an attempt to Christianize the pagan Lupercalia Festival.

In ancient Rome, spring time marked the beginning of purification. Houses were thoroughly swept, as the Romans would sprinkle salt and spelt, a special type of wheat, throughout their interiors. The Lupercalia festival was held on February 15, which was considered a fertility festival dedicated to Faunas, the Roman God of Agriculture, and the Roman founders, Romulus and Remus. Members of Luperci, an order of Roman priests, would begin the festival by gathering at a sacred cave where it's believed Romulus and Remus were cared for by a she-wolf or lupa. Priests would then sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification. Then they would slice the goat's hide into strips, and dipped them into sacrificial blood as they took to the streets. Gently slapping women and fields of crops with goathide as it was believed that it would make them more fertile during the coming year. It's then said that women would put their names in a big urn, later on in the day. The men would then pick a name out of the urn, and would become paired with the chosen woman for a year; often ending in marriage.

I know you've read most of these already but I thought I'd post them all to make it official. LOL
Inamorata-www.dokuga.com/fanfiction/story/8158/3
The Night of Sevens-www.dokuga.com/fanfiction/story/8158/4
Tomo-choco-www.dokuga.com/fanfiction/story/8158/5
Verse-www.dokuga.com/fanfiction/story/8158/6 (I really liked your poem by the way!)

I'll try to have the other two posted before you announce the new prompt.
Thank you so much for all the lovely reviews!

P.S. This response is a little late, but if you'd like I could message you the recipe for almond tea. If you're not a fan of cooking or simply don't have the time to, there are some specialty stores on the internet, that sell the pre-made mix.

Your welcome I've been enjoying your story. Good luck with getting other prompts.
If you wouldn't mind, please send the recipe. I'm always up to trying new things in the kitchen.

Btw, your prompts are quite clever. It's challenging as I'm trying to integrate them into the story, but it actually helps me create ideas for the next chapters! I'm sorry I haven't said this yet but thank you so much for doing this challenge! I love it!
