While I write scary stories I don't tend to see too many of them and very, very few actually scare me. I don't normally read a lot of them but I wouldn't mind reading a few really juicy ones. So! I propose a challenge!

Scare Zandrellia Challenge!

You have a little more than 60 days to complete this challenge. All stories must be completed, posted, and linked here (with rating!) by October 31st, 2011! That's right, Halloween!

Rules!

1. It must be a story involving Kagome and Sesshomaru. They do not have to be romantically involved. I am okay with crossovers.


2. It must be at least categorized as dark fic, if not outright horror.


3. I don't care if it is drabbles, a one shot, or a chaptered story... so long as it is done on time!


4. Please beta your work. Pretty please, with cherries on top?


5. New or old works are acceptable but I would love you to pieces if you wrote something new.


6. Anything goes. Citrus is allowed, all other genre and ratings are welcome. Be creative!

I don't know if this qualifies, but I wrote a one-shot for Kai's 100 Ghost Story Challenge last year. You are more than welcome to give it a try. It most likely won't scare you, despite the reviews I got on here and FF.net saying I scared the pants off of my readers. LOL.

Isolation

What a lovely story, Theia. It was quite pretty. I particularly loved the way you depicted the heavy sense of isolation, of being out in the middle of nowhere with no one to find you. That was quite fun!

It's not that I don't want to try- it's that I'm not sure it's possible. Based on one of our via-forum conversations, I'm feeling like you're about as easy to 'scare' as I am- which is pretty much 'not at all' . . . (barring that split second you're sure you're about to plummet down a flight of stairs or something like that, lol).

I had an inkling of something today, but I'm not sure whether or not it will suffice, so yeah. I might like what you spark better, or be able to put it together with what was starting to form for this.

Thank you, Zan! I figured it wouldn't scare you, but it might have been a good read, nonetheless. lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for reviewing it as well! I love a good horror story, as you might recall since I believe we had a good, long conversation about it in chat one day, but writing a long, detailed one... I'm afraid that might not be my forte. lol. We'll see though! Maybe your challenge will change my mind. XP

Dumb question- it is acceptable to enter lemon-laced submissions for this, yes?

Side note: Although I'm not considering this submission of an older work (even though you said you would allow it, I just prefer that if I'm entering a challenge I give it its own fic), I thought you might enjoy my current 'main' story. Sure, I'd intended to make some parts creepy, didn't think I'd succeeded, only to be told by readers how much they loved me frightening them, lol. That being said, I don't expect the same reaction from you(like I said, you're about as easy to frighten as I am, lol) but you still might find it an enjoyable read.

Stealing Heaven

Lol- A) thank you for the continued love and support, B ) . . . I said I don't consider it 'scary'. I'd say it's more . . . spooky. . . at points. OMG, but I did adore reading comments from the people who'd read certain chapters in the middle of the night and said I had them jumping at little noises and looking over their shoulders

In regards to entering chapter stories: I know in most challenges it's customary to post the story link in the thread when the first chapter's up, but seeing as it's in the challenge to have the fic posted and completed by the challenge deadline, is it still alright to post the link for the first chapter before the rest of the fic is ready for posting?

Okay, cool, 'cause I've started the first chapter and have the storyline worked out (should be a handful of chapters in length, no more than that).

I had seriously hoped you were joking about the head trauma . Concussions are not fun, I'm glad you're starting to feel better.

It wasn't but I am okay and back to normal-ish... whatever that means for me.

Lol. As I've stated, twice now, I'm not sure that's possible- or if it is, I'm not sure I can pull it off, but I can at least try to give you an entertaining story.

Ugh, I've been all torn-up trying to write something for this that I've been contemplating reading through all the rest of the entries to sort out what HASN'T scared you. I'm easily scared, though writing doesn't usually do it - have to have a visual aid, myself.

I might be writing something for you soon. (As soon as I think of something scary!)
