Can anyone please help me find this fic. All I can remember is that there is some type of snake demon I think and he is going around to the villages and eating/killing young women and he tries to kill Kagome. I think that Sesshoumaru is going to let her be killed but then changes his mind and saves her. They find out that the demon had a human lover and became angry at her for some reason so he is taking his anger out on all the other humans. I think they need him on their side for some reason. I also think that Inu no Taisho and some other demons had been brought back from the dead either to fight some sort of evil.

I've read a story that is similar to what you are asking for, but I'm not sure that it fits the bill exactly.

Kagome fights some sort of demon in it, but I don't remember if he had a human lover. Sesshomaru does let her fight on her own bacause he just doesn't give a flying fig.
Also, later in the story, the Inu No Taisho does come back.

Again, I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it does have some things that ring a bell.

It's this one, I'm sure of it (a bit later in the story though). The 'snake's' name is Tokaruman.
