I read this story years ago and I think it was on FF.net and a oneshot.

Post-canon. Kagome and Sesshoumaru have found each other in modern Tokyo and Kagome has just given birth to a longed-for baby daughter, happy ending -- no.
It turns out that the powers of miko and youkai makes it impossible to create a fully functional child and in this story we find Kagome and Sesshoumaru in the hospital waiting for their new-born daughter to die.
In a saké-ceremony Sesshoumaru names his daughter his heir.
The story ends in the silence of her last heartbeat.

I really hope someone remembers this.

I don't recall ever reading that one, but I do hope that someone else knows what it is....I really want to read it now.
