The Inuyasha group are intentionally not helping restore her memory, or are unaware of her problem? I remember one story where Kagome loses her memory and comes under the protection of Sesshoumaru while the Inuyasha group is unaware of these events. Kagome is mated to Sesshoumaru by the time the Inuyasha group finds the missing Kagome. Let me know if that sounds like the story you're referring to and I'll see if I can hunt it down later.
