I am looking for a story that I started to read a few years ago and became busy (and forgetful) to finish reading it.

I don’t know if what a completed work.

What I do remember: It was CU. Kagome was betrayed by Inuyasha and the rest of the group; Sesshomaru started to somehow take it upon himself to include her in his pack. He helped her stay calm and to learn more about traditions. As time passes they get close, but nothing really happens until after Kagome returns after two years in her time to complete her school and family responsiblities in her time.

It was a big chapter story.

The last chapter I remember reading was about Sesshomaru’s mother and her old fiance before Touga. Sesshomaru realizes there was more to his mother and how his father didn’t do everything so honorably in his life. Sesshomaru and Kagome both realized that InuKimi was in love with her first fiance and not Touga.
