...where Kagome's family is killed when she is a child and she is kidnapped by a serial killer- but escapes him after injuring him.
Now grown up, she senses that he is back, and runs from the life she has created for herself along with a dog that she free's from the pound she is working at that is scheduled to be killed.
Literally has her crossing the desert, and eventually she is found by sesshomaru, who make a deal to protect her in exchange for using her as bate for the killer, to exact revenge against them and put an end to them once and for all.
