I read it a really long time ago, and the details are a little fuzzy; so bear with me
So I know that it begins with that very first battle between Inuyasha and Sesshomaru (the one where Sesshomaru lost his arm). When Kagome picks up Tetssaiga to defend herself against Sesshomaru's poison, Inutaisho manifests. He almost instantly falls in love with her, and whisks her away to his castle. Inuyasha freaks out and follows them; Sesshomaru close behind.
Eventually Inutaisho comes to the conclusion that since he is back, he deserves to have his empire back. Sesshomaru is obviously not pleased with this, and they fight. Inutaisho decides that if he can win Kagome's heart that Sesshomaru can keep the empire, and he will step down.
Now it is a battle to win Kagome's heart. They each get alone time with her everyday, then they have a shared time with her. The relationship between Inutaisho and Kagome is easy, due to the fact that he is a very extraverted being. He's charming, good looking, and everything a woman would want in a life partner. As for her relationship with Sesshomaru, it is a little forced. At first they can't even hold a conversation, but eventually he opens up, and she begins to see him for who he truly is.
At some point Inutaisho does something stupid, and scares the crap out of Kagome; resulting in her and Sesshomaru escaping to a castle that his mother had left him. They stay for a week or so, until Inutaisho apologizes for what he has done. He is forgiven, but Kagome feels safer with Sesshomaru, so she ends up sticking with him.
I don't really remember much after that, but I do know that she ends up with Sesshomaru. I believe that the fic is in the 20-30 chapter range...
