Unfortunately, it's over on ff.net, and I need our members' help. The stories being plagiarized are "Bloodlust" and "Bloodlust: Purity" by Lira (lyrainthedark on ff.net).

This author worked so hard on these stories... she posted on A Single Spark long ago, as well as on ff.net. She doesn't deserve to have these excellent stories stolen by some kid in high school!!!!!!!

Please, go to ff.net, leave a review telling this "author" that she has no right to steal someone else's work and report the abuse to ff.net.

Yeah I checked those out and that person has gotten alot of praise for a story that's not even her's and that irritates the crap outta me.

did u look @ the writing for some of those other stories? it looks like they were written with a cell phone. even typing it this way is driving me nuts. there's a definite difference in writing style.

I think the worst part is anyone should be able to tell something's not right with the fics just based on the summaries- 'cause after this I went and looked at what else the person had posted- it literally reads like something someone would say to sum a story they're reading, not something they wrote themselves, UGH. I mean, how do you describe your own work by saying ". . . its really a really good read romance,adventure.. and so much more"? WHAT IS THAT?

I looked through the reviews for this person's work (presumably the ones that are actually hers) and it was nothing but brutal concrit- like the kind of comments that make you afraid to read the actual work 'cause you are already positive it will be a painful experience. Now, yes, we all post work with the expectation of some level of less than positive feedback or some constructive criticism, that's not what I'm pointing out. Her own fics were posted around the same time as she posted the plagiarized works and before she got found out, all of the reviews for the stolen work were glowing comments about what a great writer this person is so . . . I just wonder how she could expect for no one to catch on that something was up with her fics.

At the bottom of the page, same area you found the 'review' button, on the left side is a bar that says 'add story to favorites'. Click on the down arrow on the right side of the bar and it will open up and the first bar will now say 'Report Possible Abuse', click go and then just explain in the window that opens- make sure to click on the appropriate subject line.

I did review and I DID report. Now there is nothing more for us than to hope that the person will be deleted or whatever they do with such people. Man, I am very unhappy, that being the soft word, about people who do such a thing. We are working hard on our stories to share it with all the people out there to bring them joy and if we do, our biggest reward is the reviews we receive. To steal work is super low since then, the thief is the one receiving reviews and causing your story to lose its uniqueness. Oh, thank you so much Wiccan for noticing and alerting us. Hugs,

Evidently, something worked. I have to think it was the combined efforts of all of us!!

Although, before it was removed, I did note that we (as in Dokuga and myself) were soundly chastised by a couple of anon reviewers for "picking on a teenager." I'm not sure how you all feel, but I think that it's better to combat plagiarism however one can rather than to turn one's back just because the offender might be in high school.

Frankly, lyrainthedark had been trying for YEARS to get the plagiarism removed, so I think we did a good thing. And, by the way, she thanked us all for our efforts on her behalf!
