For two excerpts, I got H.P. Lovecraft. O.o Imagine the surprise with that one. I've heard a lot about said name, but never looked into it. For three other ones I got Neil Gaiman,Ian Fleming, and Arthur C. Clarke. Only one of those names sounds familiar.
Arthur c. Clarke is a very famous sci-fi writer. I suppose his best known work is 201: A Space Odyssey. And Ian Fleming wrote the James Bond books.

Fun fact: All writers are crazy, to some degree. There is a reason for it -- actually making it through a novel almost requires it. If you love to read, then you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re continually benefitting from other people\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s craziness.-From Cracked

I put in excerpts from the three stories I have posted here and got H.P Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov (not familiar with his writing), and Stephanie Meyer . I'm not sure what to think about these results.

Isaac Asimov is another very famous sci-fi author. He also helped do the Space series on PBS. Quite a brilliant man.

My hubby loves Asimov, and if I remember correctly, he's the author of 'I, Robot'. Yep just checked hubby's books, he's the right author for that one .

Mr. Lovecraft is most well-known for the Cthulhu mythos. He's very blatantly racist in his work, but still a pleasure to read.

When I put in pieces of DISCOVERIES, I got Stephen King and Cory Doctorow (no idea who that is)
When I put in parts of PUBLIC DOMINANCE - I got Anne Rice.

I used my 'Uncomfortable' challenge response and got James Fenimore Cooper
From Wikipedia:
James Fenimore Cooper(September 15, 1789 – September 14, 1851) was a prolific and popular American writer of the early 19th century. He is best remembered as a novelist who wrote numerous sea-stories and the historical novels known as the Leatherstocking Tales, featuring frontiersman Natty Bumppo. Among his most famous works is the Romantic novel The Last of the Mohicans, often regarded as his masterpiece.
Neat. Now if only I could finish a story...or a thought

Three different samples got: Charles Dickens, James Joyce and Stephen King...
I could do without the Joyce, but the other two rather please me, especially getting Charles Dickens.

Anne Rice!! That woman is amazing! Her stories brought about an entirely new light to the existence of the vampire. Interview with the Vampire is, and will likely always be - my favorite book.
Her work is so incredible and beautiful, and her characters are probably some of the most well rounded in fiction (in my opinion). Lestat *drools*... the villain everyone loves to hate.
Also, I heart Piers Anthony, Andre Norton, and Meredith Ann Pierce.

I got Dan Brown when I put in two of my longer pieces. I don't know who he is.
I also got William Gibson when I put in an excerpt of a story that I'm working on. I don't know who he is either.
I put in one of my drabbles and got Stephanie Meyer...I don't know whether to be embarrassed or outraged. -_-
