Such a sweet chapter! Kagome seems so lonely and so does Sesshoumaru but they keep each other sane.

Awe, such a lovely chapter.  I love that they seem to slowly be getting closer.  I wonder, though, just why is Sesshomaru following her?  Is it because she is someone who 'knows' him or is it because she's interesting?  Heck, she's taking him to her home across the US and now Paris.  

Very enjoyable read.

This is truly a sweet story. Who would have thought it possible that you could inadvertently come to the very state and city that had someone you once knew there? I know it's a fic and done purposely, but think about it...I have heard it happen in RL. Kagome was totally blown away I'm sure and embarassed I'm sure to see someone who she knew to be the TOTAL opposite that she was seeing atop the table she was sitting at.
Also amazing how he quit his job that very first night. He was definitely sure of himself...

I loved how uniquely different he was. Unique as in a sooo Sesshoumaru way. He was quiet and withdrawn which was actually being stoic as he was in the past but yet in a softer more accepting way. He only spoke when necessary but never pushed her away. I could feel how they both just felt so out of their element and when they would get together it was if each finally felt alive...as Kagome said, "a familiar face in a crowd of strangers" where you want to holler their name and rush to hug the life out them and thank them for making life a reality again, but don't in case they reject being touched so intimately. Everything flowed together seamlessly. It wasn't rushed and they didn't fall into a sexual relationship but a friendship...a really close friendship. I loved how at ease he was with her, like coming home again.

I really enjoyed their time together on the strip. He allowed her to go where she wanted and when they ended up at a fountain that was so reminisent of a few times spent with my husband before we married. There she toed off her sandels and climbed into the water and then egged him on to come in with her. They both ended up wet, but like me too, she was worse for wear. Then when they went back to hotel room and they watched the beautiful city of lights dim and blossom into the morning's rising sun and he climbed into bed with her as she slept. Beautiful!!!

I asked the same thing as Kagome though. He told her he was coming with her back to her home in Maine and she was excited but I think maybe she thought it would be more of an intimate relationship than he did. I have to wonder why you didn't go more into what they discussed when she asked him what she was to him...And why doesn't he want to get a job? Sesshoumaru was never one to live off people...live off the land, yes, but not anyone human or youkai. I'm thinking maybe he has money stashed somewhere. I don't think he would have settled on having no money put aside for "what if happens". It's not his style. I can imagine him getting bored with the same old drudgery day to day business can do to you but to be just living off a woman... his honor just couldn't allow that.

I love this and I'm bookmarking it to my favs so I can keep up to see where this goes. It's hard to believe a guy can sleep with a woman (unless they've been married a long time or he's impotent) without trying to bed her. I think he's trying there to guage her thought and feelings toward him and not just wanting to be with him to take InuYasha's place as they do look somewhat alike. She made that remark and it would stay in my mind.

Am I on the right track??? I know you probably won't answer, most don't but I tend to like guessing the plotline before it's finished. Great work!!
