I started reading this in it's beginning and reviewed. You were so sweet to write and thank me, letting me know that this was going to be worth the read as you had alot in store for it.
Well, I must first say that I've been remiss in reviewing as my life has been so difficult to keep up reading all the fics I have. I have been reading when I can and this fic has been such a well written and well thought out story that I want you to have at least the knowledge that you have done a superb job with it in my opinion.
I loved how you took Sesshoumaru and Kagome and made them a realistic couple.
I loved the developement of their relationship as Kagome struggled to deal with her own feelings of not fitting in the world like she did when she was in the Feudal Era and her guilt over having never been able to say her good byes to her Feudal family and especially to InuYasha. She found Sesshoumaru in the most unlikely places and though he wasn't the same Sesshoumaru she had known, he still was in many ways. She found a very special connection with him when they met and while they journeyed where ever her job sent her slowly they learned about each other and found a comfortable friendship and love.
I really enjoyed the ways we found Sesshoumaru to be a clothes hoarder and a sugar hound. He loved to cook and learn new recipes to treat Kagome with and that Kagome being a terrible cook wasn't ever a big issue but a good natured joke between them. I loved how Sesshoumaru knew just how to treat Kagome when she needed him most and he never knocked her down for her feelings but instead encouraged her to get over the past as she would never really be able to back and make things right in her eyes. I loved how they just seemed to feel complete when it was just the two of them alone and that words were never a big issue. Silence doesn't have to mean something is wrong.
When Kagome's mother became so ill and Kagome had to go home to Japan, those moments where she felt totally lost in the world was so moving. She come to realize that she only felt complete and right when she was with Sesshoumaru and she envied how he just adjusted easily to wherever life led him. She didn't seem to remember he was youkai and had centuries to live and learn to adapt to the ever changing world around him and that's why he continued to move around and settle for a time, live his life and move on again so people would never discover he didn't age as they did.
When Kagome's mother was dying and said that Kagome's mother was much like Kagome, I thought that was sweet of him to say and so true too. GrandPa calling Sesshoumaru InuYasha and saying he they didn't need him causing them anymore trouble was so Gramps. If he had a sutra he would have tried to throw it at him. *laughs* Kagome inheriting the Shrine was logical I guess, though I thought perhaps since there were only the two children Mother would have left it to both of them allowing them to decide who would stay and continue the line or sell it and move on. But I was glad she kept it and Sesshoumaru seemed to take it in stride as always even though it left Kagome with so many memories. He was so understanding of her need to make peace with her past and her guilt over things. I loved when he jumped down the well after she had done so and cried out her guilt and frustrations, covering her with a quilt and bringing back up to the house without making a big deal out of what she did.
I really loved this Sesshoumaru so much and believe with his many centuries of living that he could have turned out like this. He had a good understanding of life and just lived it the best as he saw fit to. I thought him taking Kagome to the festival that Rin made a tradition for his saving her village was sweet and honoring her father figure was a Rin thing to do. The dream Kagome had of InuYasha coming to tell her that he missed her but wanted her happy helped Kagome alot to see that he cared only for her happiness.
When Kagome decided to do the same as Rin and have a festival about the jewel, well that put the icing on the cake so to speak. It not only gave her closure but gave honor and remembrance to all those who fought to make the world a better and safer place. Sesshoumaru and the ordering of so many sweets vendors was funny and his not liking the more subdued puppet of himself was funny too. He and Kagome made a spectacular festival and gave Kagome the final closure she needed. She finally saw as Sesshoumaru said too that she did fit in right there on the Shrine where her life and her travels to the Feudal Era began. Thank you so much for writing this fic. You wrote in the first person perspective and that isn't always an easy thing to do nor do I usually like reading it, but you did such justice to this piece of fanfiction that the perspective didn't matter at all. I applaud your work, a job well done!

I teared up :( lol amazing story great job it was a pleasure to read !!
I stumbled across this story and read it in a binge, straight through. What a lovely story of an emotional journey. You created interesting, believeable characters. I found that I was emotionally invested in this story and felt truly satisfied by the ending. I enjoyed your internal dialogue of constantly looking for exits in stressful or unwanted situations. Thank you for this treat.
Yay so sweet. I hope the other stories you might do concerning this one have a little more of Sesshomaru!
Wow. Really loved this story. Can't say I'm not sad to see it end. I find myself wondering if they will have children after seeing the little girl.
