This is awsome, i love the this story. It feels little like im reading sword art online. Keep it up!!!. If you wanna add another chapter today i wont object
Even disregarding artistic license, I think the fact that traces of her scent isn't recognizable makes perfect sense - especially with the newest chapter. The shrine has been sold and inhabited by other people, her scent is going to break down over time and become so muddled with all the other smells that even for a yokai it is plausible that after 500 years it would not be enough to trigger anything. Furthermore, Koga and Ayame were concentrated on their own personal issues and so distractions can lead to things getting overlooked. Considering who visited the shrine it makes sense that they wouldn't think to associate the God tree with Kagome's home or with Grandpa's "Demons, begone!" routine as anything other than a senile old man. We as readers have to keep in mind that yokai are accustomed to being distrusted and reviled by most holy people, it seems like it would be a strange thing to occur in modern day but since yokai know the truth that they aren't actually just myth and legends it is plausible that when confronted with a shrine keeper who casts them out that their default response would be to not question why he has called them demons and told them to leave a shrine.
This story is great and I personally don't think there is any plot hole surrounding her scent. I hope you will continue with your story, it's one of my current favourites and I'm looking forward to seeing where you take it!

Finally!
And and and the shrine was sold! What a pity! How did they allow it!? The well? Weren't they scared someone can mess with it!?
Agrhh! So sorry for them!
An amazing chapter and hope kagome will read the message sooner than later!
Thanks for updating
OMG I LOVE YOUR STORY AND IN IMPATIENTLY WAITING ON YOUR NEXT UPDATE!!
cynthia (Chapter 9) - Sat 16 Sep 2017
I agree that senting her would b far too easy and it wouldn't have been good had it been the wolves. I am enjoying this story. Keep it up hun, ur doing great
This update was simply amazing!!! Please update soon as I am on the edge of my seat now that Shess knows it's her and sent her a message with the pack's address!!! Can't wait until they reunite.

Lisa (Chapter 8) - Thu 14 Sep 2017
I beleve Kouga would have picked up on Kogame's sent. I don't beleve they would have given up so easly. It is a good story, but I agree with one of your reiewers about the sent.
I'm glad that you touched on the subjets of reiki and scent.... but honestly even with your explanation at the end I can't agree with your logic in them not recognizing her scent. We know scent is one of the biggest memory triggers we have, as humans in the real world, I couldn't imagine for an animal not recognizing a scent. I've not smelled a scent for a decade and then when I smelled it again I immediately remembered it. I just... don't buy that even a lingering scent of her at the shrine wouldn't have caught Koga's attention, even just the acknowledgement of a familiar scent... not to mention the god tree, it was such a special and obvious landmark in the future, I don't understand how they could overlook it. I'm not bashing you or your story at all I just don't agree with some aspects and wanted to point out what I feel has been overlooked. I actually love your stories and can't wait for more!
Rose (Chapter 8) - Mon 11 Sep 2017
Ok so why don't they Google a shrine with a dry well? Each shrine has a description of the place so why don't they Google it?
Reader4life (Chapter 8) - Sun 10 Sep 2017
pooor shipppou... :/ but i hope he doesnt give up... so close but yet so far...
also.. i hope he finds her First and Then Show kagome in the Face of Everyone for giving up so easily... keep them coming!
Mona (Chapter 8) - Sat 09 Sep 2017
Shippo should question if there was any out of the ordinary occurrence, that perhaps prevented them to fully investigate. Then give a scolding to the wolf pack. Or Kohaku goes on his own to investigate the other shrines.
Nice chapter, poor Shippo! I wonder how his next plan will go...
Can't wait for the next chapter!
Natalia (Chapter 8) - Sat 09 Sep 2017
For me everything makes sense But thanks for explaining! I wonder how will shippo straight out ask her! Lol and imam sure it will be discovered that ayame and her jealousy was the reason they didn't confirm!
Thanks for updating!
Totally awsome chapter, you explained everything so fluidly without just theowing it in there. Is sesshoumaru going to make a character now?
Oh goodness I do love this do much!!!! I love video game fanfics!! Yay!
Right shrine but wrong people to have gone there. Koga and Ayame should have realized that they were at the right place because grandpa knew they were demons in disguise, that should have alerted them. Stupid wolves. Unless they tell Shippo of what happened at the last shrine poor Shippo will probably have to wait until he really gets into the game to find out about Kagome.
Great job in the writing department. I love all your stories and I can hardly wait for more updates on all of them including this one of course.
No no no! You found it, ask him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel for her though...
Wonderful story, Im really enjoying it. (:
Doug G. (Chapter 7) - Tue 05 Sep 2017
Wouldn't Kouga smell Kagome's scent at the shrine? So why did they leave?
Even if she didn't live there anymore, she grew up there, stayed there for years and probably still visits. The fact she is the one with the spiritual power would also be evident at the shrine.
