About Me
I have been an anime fan since the 80's. I am thirty two this year (2010), and starting to work on my writing skills. I got into fan fictions because of some doujinshi that I found online, then I ran across Youkai Yumi's Raindrops, fell in love with the Sesshoumaru/Kagome pairing, and here I am. I enjoy the fics and the fanart on this site. Thanks to all that contribute, keep up the good work. I just wanted to put my two cents in here, on my view of Sesshoumaru. I find that a lot of people have differing opinions on the demon Lord. I am all for everyone having a different take on him, it make the fanfiction options so much better and broader. I wanted to let everyone know my POV so that if you are not interested in my portrayal of Sesshoumaru, you are aware of what you are getting into with my work and you can avoid it if you don't like it. My point of view on our dear demon lord is as follows. The biggest thing for me is that he is very complex, with deep emotions. I don't see him as the cold and vengeful youkai. I believe that his cold exterior is a front to keep people distanced from him. He was hurt when his father left him and his mother for Inuyasha. I believe that he feels abandoned by the man that he admired. As much as he talks about hating humans he has a hard time killing them. And we all know that if Sesshoumaru wanted to kill someone he would. For example, he doesn't kill Rin, obvious right. What about all the times that he 'tried' to kill Kagome, yeah, he couldn't right. Not that Inuyasha could really do anything about it. Then the woman with the flute, he even protected her from Inuyasha (granted she was a demon, but he still felt it was his responsibility, and even placed her flute at her 'grave', very icy right.). The one that gets me the most is when he rescues Kagome from the poisons master from the Band of Seven. He saves her, then he says he was looking for Inuyasha, but when Inuyasha arrives he says he was looking for leads to Naraku. What's with that. I've only watched the english version, so maybe I've missed something in translation, but I'm not sure of that. Plus, it is often said that Rin is similar to Kagome. Of course, he would find her interesting. (Sorry, if my sarcasm was a little over the top, I get that way.) All in all, I believe that he is not as cold and emotionless as some people believe. As I said before, I love the different ideas. I just wanted to share mine.
