If I was going to write more, it would go something like this:

Kagome kept the Tetsusaiga sealed and safe, but over the years of little action she had grown complacent. At first, the sense of duty had been a great distraction from the sorrow she felt over Inuyasha's fate, but the thrill dimmed as time passed and the miko began to lament her possession over the Earthly Blade.
It was supposed to be a memoriam for the brave warriors who wielded its power, but Kagome could not ignore the fact that those who cherished it usually wound up suffering more than they should. It was a sword of humanly compassion...
Perhaps that truly was a fault for a demon to have...

The last vows he had made to Inuyasha, to protect the priestess and to no longer seek out the power of possessing Tetsusaiga, were proving more difficult to fulfill than he originally foresaw. Sesshoumaru tried to ignore the calling, but blood spoke to blood; blade to blade, and when the holy barrier that safeguarded the Tetsusaiga began to weaken he could no longer remain distant. Tensaiga sang at his side to be reunited with its borer and, to rightfully own his father's other fang, he might not be able to keep either promise.


Then they meet up in challenge, both say they really don't want to fight the other, but Sesshoumaru could not ignore the calling and Kagome could not ignore her duty to Inuyasha's memory, and the battle royale exsues, which ends with Kagome bringing forth her powers to purify Sesshoumaru, but at the last minute grabs Tetsusaiga and purifies the youki within instead. Sesshoumaru is released from the sword and Kagome is free of the burden, and a friendship can maybe start? I don't know.

I'm glad you noticed the build up between Sesshomaru and Kagome.
I appreciate the fact that you told me how heart broken you felt for Takashi. It helps to know that my readers still like Takashi enough to feel pained when he does. *sigh* a love triangle...such pain one person must go through in the end. I hope you will continue to read and enjoy the "Masked Truth".
