Hi, there. Just wanted to thank you for your thoughtful feedback on Stasis. As I said in the warnings posted in Ch.1, this story is not intended to be a romance, dark or otherwise. Some aspects of it may seem romantic, but Kagome's situation and Sesshoumaru's character do not lend themselves to development of true feelings of love.

Your theory regarding a "twisted confusion" on Sesshoumaru's part is very much on-point, and I was delighted to see such an insight. The type of Sesshoumaru character portrayal I'm going for here is that of a proud, obsessive, and ruthless creature who is incapable of "love" in the human sense, who operates according to his own standards of justice and honor, and who, above all, does not consider himself evil or even unnecessarily cruel. This is what fuels the darkness and horror in the story.

Of course, all of this is not to say that Sesshoumaru's character cannot undergo "growth" in Stasis. But he is an ancient demon, and as such his timescales for change are much longer than a human's might be. If you haven't read it already, the prequel Ab initio, written from Sesshoumaru's point of view, reveals that his attitudes have changed somewhat over time.

Oh, and as for the Jewel controlling the well, I realize that this is AU. Even in the original canon, Kagome was able to return to Sengoku Jidai through the well even after the Jewel had been destroyed. But, since this story is a canon divergence, I may twist some aspects a little as it suits me.

Sorry to write you such an essay! I was just happy to see such a thorough review and felt that it deserved a thorough response. While I realize a story like Stasis may not interest everyone, I thank you for taking the time to read and review, and I do hope that you enjoy the rest of the fanfic, should you continue to read it.

Im glad you like his expression so much it took a bit to get just the right amount of smugness for him

I'll certainly do my best to please, lol! Nefarious still has a way to go, and there will be some changes to canon, so be prepared. You could say this is how I would have done the canon Inuyasha story bent to be Sess/Kag instead of Inu/Kag. I do hope you continue to enjoy the story!
