Peace Bringer

Description:
"Yes! I knew he wouldn't be able to resist!" Kagome whooped, fist pumping the air as she exclaimed to her friends.
Having made home made sugar cookies and cocoa from her own time, she brought them, along with candy canes, back to the Sengoku Jidai to share with her friends. She had enough for everyone to get one a piece, saving hers, Miroku and Sango's, Inuyasha's, and even Sesshomaru's for later on that night, while they talked after the children fell asleep.
Everyone had already had their cocoa, but left their sweets for later. All except Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, who refused the treats. Kagome had stolen Sesshomaru's cocoa and split it between the children, while Inuyasha refused them altogether.
"Inuyasha! You better eat these! I worked hard to make them, ya know!" Kagome hollered, pointing her finger directly to the hanyou.
"Feh! Why don't you make that bastard eat them? Since ya seem to like havin' him around so much!"
Kagome huffed, turning her head away from the hanyou while crossing her arms.
"I bet he'd be more nice about it! You're just a big jerk!"
"Don't be an idiot, Kagome! Those things are probably poisoned, knowing you!"
"Hey! I learned how to cook, baka! I didn't hear you complaining when I brought the Tempura and Miso soup last week!"
"That's different!" He protested, hoping he didn't blow his chance at more of Kagome's delightful food.
"Hmph! I wouldn't want to give them to you anyway, Inuyasha. I'll give them to somebody who'll appreciate the gesture!" Kagome grinned, knowing he'd be mad with threats of giving something intended for him to someone else.
"Feh, see if I care! I bet they taste terrible anyway!" He glared, silently hoping she wasn't really going to give them away.
"Fine, I'll give them to Sango then!" She turned, walking back towards the camp with cookies in hand, grinning mischievously, waiting for her trap to fall.
Inuyasha sat in the Goshinboku ever since that argument a few hours present, and watched as the group left the hut and walked towards Kaede's place, a few miles down the road from the hut Kagome stayed in.
'Perfect! This is my chance!' He thought as his ears twitched, excited at the thought of sneaking those cookies!
He waited until they were out of sight before leaping into the night sky, landing on branches and rooftops as he maneuvered towards Kagome's hut.
Finally he reached his destination and grinned as the cookies sat on her low table, along with the candy canes and a cup of cocoa. He grinned, jumping towards the table and grabbing a handful of cookies and a candy cane.
'Wait... she'll notice if they're all gone, so I'll only take one of these... sweet smelly trees, and she won't notice!' He thought oh so cleverly, pocketing the cookie and heading back toward his tree.
As soon as he finished his cookie, the group was on their way back to the village. He grinned, knowing his little scheme was a success and that it would blow over without a rustle.
The moment Kagome entered her hut, she looked dead at the table and grinned when she noticed the missing candy cane, cookie, and saw the the cocoa in the cup has less in it than it did when she left.
'Got ya!' She grinned, jumping in the air and squealing with delight.
"Inuyasha, you big liar! I knew you couldn't stay away!" She hollered, knowing that the hanyou could hear her from the trees.
In an instant Inuyasha burst through the door, glaring at the miko in question.
"Whatcha talkin' 'bout, Kagome?" His eye twitched, worry marring his brow as he realized he made a bad move.
"I knew you couldn't stay away from my treats!" She laughed, watching as the hanyou crossed his arms and closed his eyes, turning away from the group.
"It was probably that idiot right there! Or one of the kids! I don't want that nasty crap!"
Kagome laughed as she watched the expression on her friends faces, looking over to the taiyoukai, whose brow was raised so high she thought it might push his bangs higher, and whose mouth was slightly open, as if to say 'are you kidding me?'
Miroku bent between the miko and taiyoukai, hand on Sesshomaru's shoulder, and sighed.
"To our great pleasure, we bear witness to these antics at least once a moon... it is quite amusing, ne?" The monk murmured, watching as Inuyasha continued to deny the obvious accusations thrown at him. Sango laughed in agreement as she watched the two bicker.
Sesshomaru said nothing, but watched as the two continue to argue over something so frivolous... he couldn't help but smirk at their antics, and couldn't help the warmth he felt in the middle of all this chaos.
Even during hardships and war, this miko seemed to bring a delightful aura of peace towards her friends and her family.
