I have discovered that I am absolutely addicted to coloring Jeni's linearts... This is the second one of hers I've colored and I'm working on a third. LOL. Her linearts are AMAZING... Be sure to check them out on her profile!
Still a coloring newbie, so constructive criticism is still very much appreciated! I think I like how this turned out... Wish my shadowing skills were better, but I'm trying to improve. :3

But, something about the shading puts me off. When you shade, the lightsource is usally coming from one place, but it looks like it's all over here. Like you have shaded only one side of the legs, while the rest is both sides.
Also, try to use a more yellow skintone, and for shading try something more red. It does ALOT with the finished result x3
Also, if you are unsure how to make the lightsource look like it's coming from one place, draw "sun rays". You'll see where the light hits the character, and then it'll be way easier to figure out where to put the shade (:
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! =) The sword wasn't difficult at all. If anything, I think the most trouble I had was figuring out how to best color the sleeve... lol. But I managed.
ANDANDAND... I actually do that. LOL. With the blur brushes and opacity with the shadows and highlights, I mean. XD I just don't think I do a very good job of it. And I know I have a problem following the direction of the light sources throughout the entire art... Still, I'm working on it... lol.
One of the things I also love the most is the sword. I thought you would have trouble getting to know what was what, but you got it perfectly.

PD: Lately, for shadowing...what I've been doing, which I am not sure it's right but I'm too lazy, is that I choose the blur-brush? and use it on the sides I want the shade, but with a BIG brush. Then I play with the opacity (65-80) and then erase all the shadow that went out of the lines xD Same with highlights, and after that I use a very fine pen (white) to put where the light touches hair and some parts of clothes or nose or lips. =] Hope this helps... again, I consider myself an awful painter, unless I am 150% motivated.
