Used to... didn't exactly LOVE IT, but didn't mind it either. Did 48 straight when I was in my late 40's, but can't anymore... funny what you CAN'T do when you get older!

That's in the middle. I used to not mind it, then for a while it was good to get out of the house. I own a horse by the way.

Western, is the best. I can't post up on the English Saddles.

I can't remember at the moment, ah... I've got the paperwork somewhere.

Both... have one 29 yr. old horse that needs Senior, and 5 acres... my boys are well-fed!

I hear ya with the Western... never did quite get the hang of posting myself, although my daughter is a whiz.

Pine Bark nuggets, the fool eats everything else. Had to panel the inside of her stall so she didn't eat the boards.

I don't know why she cribs, the vet says most likely cause she's lonely.
As for saddle riding, she's not a rider. I wish she was, but she's not broke for it.

Open stall or closed?

Open stalls... they are free to come and go but, with the warmer weather, they hide out in the barn cuz of the bugs. Stalls are messier now than the middle of winter!

Vet is most likely right... single horses don't generally do well without developing a bad habit or two. My sympathies for the stall lining... not easy, nor cheap! Too bad she's not broke to ride either but, then again, I don't have time to do it anyway. The 29 yr old one is an EVERYTHING horse (show, therapeutic riding, lesson horse, etc.) and the 13 yr old is green-broke (needs a LOT of groundwork).

Hay or hay cubes?

Hay.

Ah, well she's good on the ground. You can get the saddle on her and she's fine with the bits, it's just when you get up there. My aunt tried once and got tossed. I ain't about to risk it. Since I'm looking for a job.

The stall lining was easy, just had to measure and cut sheets of plywood. It's almost like a padded cell, just without the foam cushions... which she'd be freaked out by.

Salt cube, or feed mix?

Trace mineral salt block.

I have enough trouble trying to remember to put the old guy's joint supplement in his feed, lol!

Probably a good idea not to try the bronc riding routine while job hunting! I kinda feel the same way about trying to ride the green-broke one, but he's a challenge all the way around... even the ground manners have gone kaput since he was on lease for the past 3 years. Starting all over with breaking him of the kicking & biting... no clue what those people did with him, but my guess is 'not much.'

Okay, last horse related question, then I'm off to the barn out back to feed and pamper my babes:

Barefoot, even when we did ride here it was only on pavement for a few seconds to cross the road then there is a open field across from my house.

That kicking and biting is easy to deal with. Thump 'em on the nose when they bite. If they rear back to kick, smash a water balloon on their head. They'll never do it again. If it's kicking out from the back I don't know though.

Mine already ate a few hours ago, just had to drop hay about forty minutes ago though.

Never tried 'em.

Haven't had the opportunity - it's a delicacy that isn't too common to find here in Michigan, LOL!

Horses were late being fed tonight because the people were late being fed. Mine are usually on a 12 hr schedule, plus free-choice pasture AND hay. Like I said, spoiled!

Dislike.

Most of the militia articles I've read and sites I've been to are generally pretty scary, as they seem populated with a lot of really rigid personalities. Don't get me wrong, our family has firearms and we all know how to use them, but we're not worrying about the apocalypse, or even the zombie apocalypse, just yet!

Only had baby goat once, in Mexico... it wasn't an planned excursion, but it was tasty stuff!

Never tried it, but nice!

Armalite AR-50? Not as big as the PTRD, but still impressive, handled one once.

Never, not a fan of armalite.

As for the Ptrd the round is is made for piercing tank armor. It's a .57 Caliber.

Not sure of the name, but it's a 20mm Grenade launcher. (I got to shoot sandbags but it was still fun.)

Never.

I sold my pistol though. It was a Taurus Judge, mean little revolver shooting them 410 shells.

M1911A2 .45 Caliber (I want two of these once I get the money for 'em. They shoot like a dream if you get the barrel extension.)
