Well, you know how it is whenerver the kids want to help you do a big job... They end up dropping/breaking/losing tools, they are underfoot, the job takes AT LEAST twice as long to finish, and there is always the possibility of a trip to the emergency room. Most likely for you, not the kid.

I don't know about baboons specifically, but monkeys have a sort of disarming reputation in Japan. A benign nuisance. Perhaps the pelt is meant to deceive people into thinking he's not plotting and as we all know, he's always plotting.
