So, I got a really nasty and threatening review for She Who the Prophecy Foretold today on another site, saying that if I didn't post 5 3000 word chapters, and good ones, by May 13th, the reviewer would steal my story.

I'm just asking for people to keep an eye out for the story being posted anywhere new, or under a different title. There's no way I can meet the demands, and I wouldn't do it anyway on principle. I thought maybe if I had more sets of eyes, we would catch it before it got too far, if they really follow through on their threat.

WOW! I sure hope you reported that review to the (generally useless) staff on that "other site." That is some seriously messed up stuff!!

Needless to say, that would NEVER fly here. If found, that person would be banned immediately, not to mention possibly reported to their ISP for harassment!

You can rest assured that the Admin staff here will keep their eyes peeled, as well as staff on other sites... and I'm sure our members who read on that "other site" will do their part as well. We may be up to our eyeballs in busy here, but (at least for me) we still go through the front page daily.

You should forward the message in its entirety to the admin staff of that other website. That way, they could see the user name of the person that threatened you and do something punitive.

Sorry, didn't see your reply. There are ways to track the ISP address from the email message, but I don't know them. Maybe you can have someone trace it back to it's ISP and complain?

I don't understand why readers believe that they have control over when writers update, their plot-line, and how long the chapter should be. If they want to be the boss of a story that way, they can make their own story and do whatever they want with it. Ridiculous.

I'm appalled. Not only at this ludicrous demand and the threat of theft, but also the poor writing skill of the reviewer.

Got another review from this 666, this time complaining that The Snow Angel isn't moving fast enough. Then they said that since I didn't meet their deadline, they're stealing Prophecy, though it was so badly spelled, I had to guess what they were saying. Plus more lovely names. I really don't want to have to turn off anonymous reviews at Fanfiction.net, but if this keeps up, I suppose I'll have to. Just wanted to keep you guys updated, since I imagine the plagiarism will start soon.

As one of my favorite authors I will definitely keep an eye out for anything that is remotely similar.

Unbelievable. How that person can possibly think that Snow Angel is not moving fast enough is ridiculous. I started reading it the other day, haven't reviewed yet, but I cannot agree that the story isn't moving fast enough. I love it just how it's turning out.

There are people like that unfortunately. They simply can't understand that fanfiction writers have a life outside the fanfiction world and that it's in their discretion whether or when to update their stories. I'm truly sorry this happened to you and if I see someone plagiarizing any of your stories, I'll be sure to give you a heads up.
