Is Sesshoumaru right or left handed? 12 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 23
-With having both hands-

Is he right or left handed? My brain is nurgh at the moment but I need this information for the story I'm currently writing.

I know that the sword/Katana is cross drawn, meaning the sword is kept on the side of the non-dominant hand.

But as I mentioned before brain is kind of off right now and the pictures I've found of Sesshoumaru have him facing toward the screen(So I can't think of whether the sword is on the right/left) - I'm thinking he's right handed but, just want to double check!

If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated

Well his katana are on the left side, so by that logic he'd be right handed.

And I recall reading that samurai at least were not supposed to draw swords with their left hands anyway. One of the things to point out why it was bad to mirror the translated manga in the West to make the reading direction match our norms.

Thanks That's what I was thinking.

I know the sword placement when they meet/are in someone's home is important-it shows how they view the person they are with, their relationship with them. If they're right handed- Having it on the floor on the left means they're on guard and will defend themselves if needed. While having it on the right means you trust the person, that they will not harm you.

I thought it was interesting when I found out too

There's more to swords/sword etiquette then I first thought.
