I've used Ichiro in one of my oneshots - it literally means "first born son". The site inali mentioned for Japanese names and meanings is a good one that I've used before. It's always difficult to come up with an appropriate name. Good Luck!

www.20000-names.com

This is a site I sometimes use. You can search by male or female names. There obviously aren't 20000 Japanese names out there. It lists names for multiple languages. It also gives the meanings for the names. Hope this helps.

As a side note: I just went out and checked out the site again. Did you know that the name Ai, that Kagome decided to call the child she has had contact with, means indigo or love? How appropriate.

[ Bows in gratitude ] Thank you to all who responded to my dilemma ,Ladybattousai, Inali, Time On My Hands , and Tenchi no mai - you were all so very helpful. I really hate to reuse the same names all the time [ except for Sesshs' father - I love the ones I use.] I was able to finish my chapter and I found such wonderful names on that site...thank you inali . I am very grateful to you all!!!

www.namenerds.com/irish/meaning1.html

I knows, why Irish names? Smittee is just throwing them out there. xD I look at this list a LOT! Of course, these are mostly place names, but they have pretty meanings.
