Hey!

Ok, so I didn't know where else to post this question: sorry mods if this post is in the wrong spot!

Anyway, my question is this: what is the top to a Miko outfit called? You know, the white shirt Kikyo and other priestesses wear? Is it a houri? Not sure...

Anyway, if you know, let me know! Kinda need that info for my upcoming chapter to my fanfic!

The traditionell clothes of a miko is the Chihaya , consisting of a scarlet hakama , either as pants or a skirt ; a white kimono shirt with sleeves and often rambling red seams.

I think the top has sometimes been referred to as haori, but like Silence-Midnight said, they're actually kimono. Haori is more of an overcoat.
