I noticed when posting my one shot that a chapter title is required. I'm not really sure if this is necessary, especially considering most one shots don't have titles for a single chapter.

I'm working on a script update for the fanfiction part of the site. I'll add this to the list of changes and get it up as soon as it's ready.

Obviously I tried enough times to get it to work ^_^ but I initially had problems registering. I'd get the below message after completing the form and clicking the "send registration" button:

You are not authorised to view this resource.
You need to login.

This happened in both Safari and Firefox. If the user is diligent they should be fine, but I don't want it to turn people away. Hope this helps.

It would be great if there was a Forum spot for subjects that are outside the S/K world. Like if readers and authors would like to share info about there lives and/or news that has influence in their daily lives. I see us all as a family like community and we should get to know each other.

I agree with what Kinhana said about a spot for talk unrelated to S/K. I think that it would help people keep wanting to come and check out the forums. If they know that they have a spot where they can talk to other people about a lot of different things. I also believe, that this would help show how friendly and welcoming Dokuga is.

Miss Kagura and I are currently discussing a forum for off-topic discussions. It is ripe for abuse once you allow conversations to stray from the intent behind a site (fanfiction and fanart in this instance), so there would need to be ground rules if that does become a reality.

Yes, I have seen such abuse problems several times. It is quite sad actually. What bothers me more though is when people are rude enough to be talking in the forums and not be listening to the rules. That is just disrespectful and wrong. If you are on a forum you should obey the rules that the admins ask you to abide by.

Naturally, I would expect that there would be rules. Without rules there is nothing but a chaotic mess, that almost always ends badly.

I noticed that when I went to edit my profile I couldn't click on any of the tabs. I was able to last night, but today it just isn't working for me.

I was just poking around, and I found that when I was in the forum and clicked on the "Show Latest Posts" link, it would say "There are no new posts in the timeframe you selected." I experimented with the different timeframes, and posted both comments and a topic, checking after each action, and no dice. If it weren't so unwaveringly consistent, I'd assume it hated me and just move on, but when it happened every time I figured I should bring it to your attention.

Um... I've been messing with it for the last three-ish days, so maybe it's just a broken link? No one else seemed to have noticed anything, so it could be just me. Oh well.

I'm amazed at the progress you've made in the last few days. It's exciting, and I'm not even doing anything.

On one hand, a non-related section would be nice... but on the other, I feel like there would need to be more "precautions" against abuse than simple rules. I don't know, I mean, loopholes can be found semi-easily in any set rules, and I'd almost recommend adding several "secondary Admins"... except, all too often, the mood of those mini-Admins holds too much influence over their decisions, leaving the forum with an extreme amount of inconsistency throughout.

It's a complicated decision, and I'm glad you are taking the time to discuss and think it over. Maybe even go half-way; instead of having a fully Random section you could have a Tangents section where a general connection to Inuyasha or Japan or writing is "strongly encouraged". Along with rules, that could potentially dissuade the "I like cheese" topics.

Oy, it's on the list now. When I click, they all work except the 'four hour' timeframe. Many things to work on! Thanks for reporting it, by the way!

Hi, I'm just beginning to really get to know your site, though I have been getting emails for awhile now. I know that A Single Spark writers are looking to move their stories here and I'm all for that cause I don't want to loose my favorites...

My problem seems to be that I can copy a link, but when clicked on it does not go to that story. I keep my favorites stories and the links to them for A Single Spark and Adult FanFiction site cause they don't have the alerts that go out when a new chapter is added as well as the fact that I like to reread my favorites (of which demonlordlover is one).

So, to give an example... the following link goes to a story by SunsetMiko that I am following in A Single Spark and she is now posting it to this site and I copied the link (which is VERY long by the way).

This link address is correct - all info is confirmed to correspond to the 2nd chapter of "Chronicles of the Moldy". When I click the link in my email or even highlight and copy link to past into the address bar (and it does paste correctly) it drops the identifing info that takes it to the story and only links to the general area where you click if you want chapter story, one shots, or collections of oneshots and drabbles (See link below):

That is what you get routed to. Just thought I would share, cause I need my links.... my addiction requires them (haha).

Also, is there a way I don't know about that puts me on an email alert for my stories that I follow or my favorite author alert (like MediaMiner and FanFiction)? If not, are you looking to do this?

Shorter links are in the works. The script for shortening them was quite full of bugs, but it should be back in the next day or so, assuming I can use it on test site without any errors.

You've definitely hit a bug, however. The link that is being displayed for stories isn't complete. It's missing the suffix of the link that tells it the story name and the coordinating text file. This may take a couple of days for me to fix, but until then, if you click the story name at the top of the fanfiction area, where it says Main >> Chapter Stories >> Story Name, you should get a good link.

I apologize for this bug. It hasn't been reported yet which is really surprising considering how much traffic we're seeing.

Fanfiction stories should now always produce a correct link.

I'm very glad to see the "My Menu" option back in the navigation! Those must have been some nasty bugs ruining that area!

i second that! i missed it so much. more than chocolate. :3

i was just wondering, generically for the fanfiction section if there could be a master list sorted by most recent updates. instead of having to look at it via the "type" of story--chapter, one-shot/drabble, etc.

Then we could just read the newest updates in general in case there are more than the 10 or 15 posted on the main section.

On the left navigation menu, under 'Quick Links,' the 'Updated Stories' link will show the last 25 updates.

View by update date will be one of the many features of our next system. I agree that it needs to happen though, that's for sure.

First of all I love the site. I can't wait until it grows even more! However I just used the password retrieval feature and it was reset. Now i can't figure out how to change it to something I will remember, instead of the random letter number combo it currently is. Any help?

The password field is on the 'Contact Info' tab that you see when you click 'Update Your Profile'.

Or, you can click here, and just move over to the 'Contact Info' tab.

How do I remove a story from my Favorites List?

I don't know if it's just me but every time I attempt to update my profile (add an avatar or comments) I get a blank page with the web address dokuga.com/component/option,com_comprofiler/Itemid,178/task,userAvatar/
I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong or what.

My bookmarks are not working for this site. It tells me dokuga.com/component/option,com_ewriting/Itemid,153/?mosmsg=Invalid+ID What's even worse is when I went to just do a search for Peace Treaty it had the gull to tell me "no matches found". I ended up having to just scroll through the chaptered stories until I found it. At least I wasn't fooled into believing it wasn't there.

I do have 2 suggestions as well. I love on the site The Petulant Poetess that they have this neat thing where for each chapter of a story you can click "not read" and it'll become check marked and say "read". It comes in handy for people like me who read so much they tend to forget what exactly they've read!

Updates for stories would be great too. I have a folder in my Hotmail where all my little fanfic updates from FF.net get sent. I'm happy every time I see a new one in it!
