Hi guys!

Dokuga has recently been hit by two denial of service attacks, where people try to overload the server and seriously affect its stability and performance. We had something similar happen about a month and a half ago.

We're making some changes behind the scenes, and while they're not going to be visible on the outside, they are major changes. Please let us know if you see ANY errors or encounter anything that isn't functioning normally.

Right now, profile comments are disabled because that script needs a major update to work correctly. They should be back by tomorrow at some point.

The only thing I noticed was that around 8:00 am CST, the site wouldn't load for me. I figured that updates were going on.

I wondered what happened. Sucks about the attack, good to see things are up and running again. If I spot bugs I'll give you a shout ^^

I've been adjusting settings on the server to make our site less vulnerable, and one adjustment wiped out chat for a few hours. It's fixed now though.

-Userlist

These should be fixed by tomorrow!

Anyway, SO sorry about the issues and the downtime. We had something similar happen a couple of months ago and I thought then that it would end up being an isolated incident. It obviously wasn't, but I think the changes we're making will help us defend ourselves.

If that doesn't work, we'll get sticks and stones and start breaking some bones.

Agent Phishbon3s, reporting! I gotz an error!

I tried to change my icon. After I browsed, selected the icon (from my personal files and clicked a update, I got this message:

Error occurred during the moving of the uploaded file.

Yea, same here! I was trying to change my icon as well.

If you click on the fanart catagory, then click on the "Last added" link, all the art is lined in a single row to the right side instead of the rows of five.

I'm pretty sure comments are back up, but Akay and I couldn't leave them last night. We're both using IE. I'm not sure what version she's running, but I'm running IE 8.

I just tried to leave a comment on someone's profile and nothing happened after I clicked "sign profile book".

I've been having a difficult time signing comments on others profiles. It just isn't working.

No, they're not working. Miss K actually posted a notice about them not working when she was updating the site. Unfortunately part of the security we had to implement after the denial of service attacks is incompatible with some of our script. So she's working her way through making them compatible. However, she's also MIA right now as RL is eating away all of her time with a work place project so Dokuga can't be the top of her priority list right about now.

They will be fixed eventually. they are on her list

I decided, quite at random you know, (cause I gits down like dat) that I didn't care for my profile pic anymore and so I was going to change it. When I tried to upload a different picture from my files, I kept getting an error message. However, I was able to use one from the gallery. It just won't let me upload any of my own files.

-User search
-Bacon

So we should be good to go now. If you guys know of anything else that isn't working, please let me know!

I just tried to update my current fic but the chapter wouldn't post. I got a fatal error message; is there a problem on the site that won't let up post chapters? If so, how long will it be before we can post?

Okay, this is weird. The chapter is posted, though I am not too sure how it did. I know I was not hallucinating when I got that fatal error message; it happened, it really did.

Okay so something just happened to me, i posted a review and it gave me a fatal error message, but when i clicked on reviews, my review was there. I think it's kinda like Oroyukae's problem with uploading the chapter, so i vouch for her not being crazy.

I went to change my picture and it said it needed to be approve, is that suppose to happen
? Cause I know it didn't before

The 'Fatal Error' is fixed now, and the image approval is gone. Sorry about that!

I know you're working through the script of the site so this is may well be normal, but the set up of the site is looking rather strange to me...with the dokuga emblem allll the way on the right and the tool bar options looking a little funky.

Is this is a normal part of the work-in-progress....or is this just something I'm experiencing?

Hit control+f5 on the front page. We redid the menu options across the top, so if your browser still has old cache information, it won't look right.

I tried the f5 trick and it didn't work...I tried command f5 too because I have a mac and it still didn't change.

Whenever i try to upload image from my computer as my avi, it doesn't work. It says an error occured during the moving of a file. it's the right size but still doesn't work. Is there any way to solve this problem? Thank you.
