It has been brought to my attention that there is a site called eBooks Tree, on which people are posting fanfiction that they have lifted from other sites. Several Inuyasha stories are there, so I would strongly suggest that you either search for your pen name or your story titles to see if anyone has posted yours without your permission.

In this post on another site, the author gives you the wording of a typical DCMA take-down notice, as well as instructions for contacting eBooks Tree to get them to remove your work:

In one case, the person uploading the content specifically says that she doesn't own the stories that she uploaded... she just wanted to "share" another person's work. *eyeroll*

I would strongly suggest that everyone else check it out, at the least. This stuff happens waayy too often, especially when people cross-post stories on ff.net, AO3, or other sites (I believe someone else on FB mentioned some Wattpad stories showing up on eBooks Tree as well).

Even if the original author is credited on a site like eBooks Tree, the original author has no idea that their work is posted on such a site and has no way of tracking what happens to it. It's still theft, pure and simple, whether the original author is credited or not.

Ebook Tree is down as is the shifted site, Ebook-tree.net.

I've googled for both sites.

Nothing but a blank page.
