I've been looking for a fic. I'm pretty sure it was rated MA or the equivalent. It starts with the fall of the west while Sesshoumaru is gone (not sure on this detail, its been a while) Rin is killed and Jaken is responsible for all of it. Kagome kills the guy who takes over and keeps Jaken. She brings the head of the guy somewhere (again been a while) and something causes Sesshoumaru to have to fight as her champion and this makes him her mate (I think). Anything sound familiar to anyone? Please help me.

Any lord can lose his lands and title if they are defeated in a battle. I think there is more to it, but like you said, Sesshomaru is defeated, no thanks to Jaken.

Kagome, somehow and some way, is parted from InuYasha and gang (Kikyou joins or something), she becomes powerful (darned if I can remember) but battles the male who fought Sesshomaru and defeats him, making Kagome "Lord" of the West and Jaken becomes her vassal.

It's killing me, but I think there was a quest to find out who is trying to take the lands over and Sesshomaru and Kagome end up traveling together. I believe Naraku is already dead.

There's more, but I'm having a tough time recalling it all.

This is sounding really familiar. I hope someone can find this or knows what it is.
