Searching For Fic 12 Years, 3 Months ago

I have tons I need to be doing, but I can't find this fic and it is driving me insane. Here's what I remember:
Sesshomaru is either telling Kagome this or thinking about how he at first used Tensiega on Rin as a test, but he allowed her to continue to follow him because she gave him insight into Kagome. How it allowed him to get the chance to know her without following her around.
I know that it's not a lot, but I think it comes from a pretty well known fic which means I am going to feel like a goob for not remembering.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
