I have recently begun reading fanfiction again, and I really wished to read a certain story.

I believe the fanfiction was named after a song (who doesn't do that), but I could quite possibly be very wrong on this. It's only a feeling I have. The author wrote the story up to some odd forty or fifty chapters, decided she didn't like it, and proceeded to rewrite it from scratch. I believe this was somewhat three or four years ago, and that's about when I stopped checking for updates. I remember the original story being nominated for some 'A Single Spark' awards but, sadly I cannot find the story to save my life. It's almost as if it's been deleted (hopefully not).

Anyway, the original story was placed in present time and starts off somewhat vague, but the reader eventually learns that Kagome had turned full youkai: silver hair, claws, markings, maybe a symbol on her forehead, or what have you. Some details I do remember about the story are somewhat random. Kagome's personality changed to something similar to Sesshoumaru's indifference. I also remember Souta had a girlfriend who at first didn't like Kagome but eventually would try to mimic her demon looks. The developing romance between the two characters seemed to grow very slowly but subtly. And maybe something having to do with "wishing to the shikon no tama's fault".

Oddly enough, I can also recall the author mentioning in a note that her boyfriend dressed as Sesshoumaru for Halloween.

Was there any other scenes you remember? Or maybe a nemisis. something like that?

I don't believe there was a main antagonist of any sort. Just a very, very slow growing romance between the two. If there was some bad guy, he probably didn't mean much.
