Once I get a story stuck in my brain, it's hard to think of anything else. Any help will be much appreciated!
I'm looking for an AU story which was incomplete when last I read it, and I can't believe I've forgotten the title. Sesshomaru and Kagome live in a courtly world where the chief antagonist is Kouga, who had intentions of courting Kagome. Kagome comes from a wealthy family and has some training as a healer, which isn't encouraged because she's supposed to be a refined lady. Both her parents are alive and Kikyo is her sister.
Sesshomaru is a prince, and he and Kagome exchange a lot of letters (books, libraries, and secret note passing is involved) and as both sets of parents approve the match despite knowing Kouga will be pissed ant it will likely incite trouble, Kagome and Sesshomaru are engaged.
There are also dragons involved, and Sesshomaru takes Kagome on a dragon ride. She's involved in researching why there are so few dragons breeding, thanks to her healing knowledge.
It saddens me that I can't think of this story's title when I can remember so many details (eg, there's a lot about the scents of the sealing wax on the letters). It was a very well-written story, and I'm confident someone out there knows it and can point me in the right direction!! Thank you very much!
