AWWWWWW (*tear*) i wish you didnt end the story so early it was getting really good.
I hope you're happy with yourself- I lost 2 hours yesterday and several more today carefully reading every single word of this fic. I loved it. You managed to not just write a poignant love story, but to tackle the very heavy issue of human rights. There's many things that come to mind when you discuss the families being torn apart- the nazis and th destruction they created by murdering thousands of disabled citizens, then moving on to murder and torture thousands of Jews; the horrific things done to the African Americans as they fought to escape slavery and the stigma attached to the color of their skin. Many human rights groups still fight, for equality, justice, and the right for people to live freely- I, myself, have faced discrimination in the past, due to being disabled, though thankfully nothing major yet. There is a huge measure of truth to the way you show people over coming the lack of understanding. Knowing someone personally, in a positive light, prevents that lack of understanding, erases it in many. I feel, personally, that I can not ask for people to understand my disability unless I am willing to teach them about it. Thankfully, the lessons learned are ones that apply for the rest of the world. Basically, all of that is to say: thank you, for getting people thinking, in addition to giving them a love story to deeply enjoy along the way.
Loveyaa (Chapter 12) - Fri 25 May 2012
What a nice little story. I thought you handled the fallout in a believable manner. There was still lots of drama and love and good triumphing over ignorance. I hopthat here are more like this to come because I can't wait to see what comes next :)
This is one of the most beautiful, well-written, and wonderfully thought out stories that I have ever read. It was exciting and had a twist that I had never seen in a Sesshoumaru/Kagome story. Amazing job, I love it.
A. Nonny Mouse (Chapter 12) - Thu 24 May 2012
*crooked smile*
When Sango had her cameo, I was hoping she would was not an anti-youkai activist.
When you wrote about Kagura's bare-wristed photos being all over media, the image was vivid in my mind.
I believe, and this is only my opinion, that the speech which you gave Sesshoumaru in chapter 11 was the heart of this story. Yes, it was an enjoyable romp: a nice amount of everything bitter, sweet and hopeful.
:)
