I'm rather interested in where you plan on going with this, and I'll definitely watch to see when you write more. The thing I have an issue with is not the death and mutilation of the children (though it was horrific - did you consider leaving that to the reader's imagination or having it become a shock moment t be revealed in a later therapy session?) but with your characterization of suicide. In Japanese culture, ritual suicide was volunterily performed by samaurai and followers of bushido allowing them to die with honor rather than be captured by their enemies or when they had brought shame to themselves or their family. This practice was rampant in the time period portrayed in Inuyasha, was performed by a number of the Jamanese generals after WWII, and was the cause of death of Isao Inukuma, a CEO, in 2001 due to financial losses cuffered by his company. The idea that Suicide is wrong is a completely Western concept and completely throws the reader out of the storyline.
