So, does this mean my husband can blame Sesshoumaru for the fact that he had to be with me when I gave birth?  :)  Great update!  I hope that Sesshoumaru doesn't get punished for doing the right thing.

Miwa you are awesome! That was indeed a beautiful chapter. For Sess to finally just give in to be there for his mate and breaking tradition was wonderful. Now, for his confession....I wonder what that will be like? Maybe before the council while being questioned on breaking tradition mayhaps? This was great love...keep up the wonderful work!

I see no reason for Sess to get in trouble for the breach of tradition. Few of my reasons include:

1. If Kagome's reiki would've gone so far out of control that it'd started to purify nearby youkai, it could've killed the child being birthed as well, leaving the West without heir because of tradition.

2. Kagome is the first priestess successfully mated to a youkai family. It is bound that certain traditions cannot be applied to her.

3. Kagome is basicly foreigner (what with being 21st century female and all) and she has been raised with different values than Sengoku Jidai women have been. If her home has imprinted that the male be present in birth for the mother's support, it will cause unwanted reaction if he isn't because of his upbringing.

I'm not entirely sure of how solid the number 3 is, but those are just few of my own thoughts...

Miwa...that was a beautifully worded confession. With the backdrop of the raining petals, the scene was set perfectly. Keep up the great work. Sess' confession should come unexpected like hers...like when he is holding his heir after his birth and while speaking to his son, make the confession as if he wants his son to know about his feelings. That would be cool.
