Predestination 1

Kagome's face had small cuts on it from the jagged branches that whipped her delicate face as she ran through the woods. Her legs were sore and her uniform was torn but she had to keep running, she could feel it getting closer.

"Flashback"

"Come on, you're too slow" Inuyasha growled at his companions. It had been a whole month without one damn jewel shard. He was more than angry.

The rest of the crew just mumbled their complaints to their seemingly oblivious slave driver as they walked along. Kagome was just about to make him stop or sit him to oblivion, but she felt a familiar pulse through her body.

"JEWEL SHARD" in an instant she was on Inuyasha's back. Her legs cried for sweet joy.

"Where?" she could hear the excitement in his voice.

"Over there" she pointed to a thicket of trees. Instantly the crew was ready, Maroku, Sango, and Shippo were on the now transformed fire cat's back. They all took off in the direction of her finger.

As soon as they reached the thicket they were awe stricken by the size of the Youkai, standing proudly over his kill. It was a huge lizard/dragon looking thing. Kagome almost gagged at its repulsed appearance, but she didn't she had work to do.

"Well, where are they?" Inuyasha growled impatiently.

She squinted and concentrated, ah ha there they were. "There are four of them, two in both hands."

As soon as she said it Inuyasha deposited her and drew the Tetsusaiga, transforming it into the gigantic pulsating fang. As Inuyasha and Sango attacked it Kagome started to feel something really wrong. It was like it was gaining power as it fought the oncoming blows from her two partners. She didn't know what was going on but she did know one thing, they needed to run. She looked down at Shippo who was standing at her feet.

"Shippo don't ask why but run to Kirara and tell her to get Sango and Maroku and run towards the east." She saw his confusion but he quickly did it, trusting his mother's judgment.

"Inuyasha run to the north" she shouted, he gave her "Why the fuck?" look but soon found out. The beast started to break apart into smaller ones, all chanting Jewel shard. She could tell Inuyasha wanted to run for her but he was too busy trying to run away from the poisonous venom attacks the youkai were giving him. She looked to see about eight heading straight for her. She turned and ran towards the west as fast as she could.

End of flashback

She didn't know how long she had been running, she masked her scent miles ago but she kept running just in case. She slowed to a quick pace to catch her breath; she really hoped the others were all right. She started look around and noticed for the first time she was completely lost. Great just great Kagome your in another era and you have no inclination to where you are. The forest was thick; beams of sunlight filtered through the treetops giving her surroundings a mossy green hue. She exhaled deeply; this place sure would be wonderful under entirely different circumstances. Especially with that one and only guy, she remembered when she would wish it to be Inuyasha, but her feelings were slowly ebbing away. There was only so much a girl could take of being shunned away for another.

As she continued walking cautiously she felt another pulse of power but this one wasn't the same as the one chasing her, a little weaker but it was strong and contained a fragment of the jewel with it. However as soon as it came it left, but a new feeling arose but this was just a youkai with no shard, but it was stronger. As she walked closer she notched her arrow on to her bow just in case. She stepped into a clearing where it was coming from hoping really not to find anything but as her luck proved countless times before she was wrong.

What she saw was beyond her comprehension, a bloody taiyoukai of the west lying face down on the forest floor.
