A broken Arrangement by luckyprincess

The Arrangement

"Hey! Hanako! It's time to go back." A six-year-old boy shouted at the girl who was chasing the dog in the garden.

"Come on, onii-chan! Can I play a little longer?" The raven-haired girl importuned her brother.

"So that means you don't want to hear mommy's story" The boy faked regret, shrugged and then turned back, walking slowly towards the house.

"Wait!! Onii-chan!" The boy stopped when the voice shouted clearly behind him. *This is the only way to get you home* He smirked evilly at his trap. Then he turned around, giving her a half smile.

"I will go with you!"

"Ne? May be you needn't." He mocked.

"But you said that okaa-san would tell us her story!" She burst out at her brother, looking very disappointed.

"Who cares? Haven't you said that you want to play a little longer?" He asked, leaning down at Hanako.

He had already known the answer but it was funny to tease her.

"Yeah-- but--" Hanako wobbled, looking regretful.

"No buts, Hanako. Truth is the Truth!" He shook his head, placing his hands on his hip.

"Huh!! NO!!!" The girl shouted, eyes all teary. Then she burst out crying loudly.

"Hey, hey! Okay, okay! We will go! Don't cry!" He coaxed and sweat-dropped. *Gezz, can't believe she cries so easily*

"Arashi!!" A woman's voice arose from the house. *Oh no* He thought. He was definitely in trouble. Then a shadow appeared from the door. Her face was serious. "How many times have I told you not to tease your sister?" She asked severely.

"Uh... Sorry, mom..."

"Okaa-san!" Hanako yelled while running to her mother's lap.

"Hey, I was just kidding! Why are you so upset?" He laughed nervously at his sister. The mother sighed. They were always like that, one teased and the other cried because of the joke. It drove her crazy sometimes. They could never get along well. What a headache!

"Okay, you two stop now." The woman said while taking up her daughter.

The girl turned to face her mother's beautiful eyes. "Mom! Are you going to tell us a story, your story?" She asked innocently. The mother smiled softly, nodding her head. "But you two have to promise that you won't tease each other, okay?"

"Yay! I promise!" The girl said loudly then turned her eyes to her brother and pulled out her tongue at him. He gripped his hand and looked away. "Huh!"

The mother sighed, shaking her head, murmuring. "They can't change after all..." After that she took the boy's hand and they went into the room. "Let's have tea, then I will tell you my story"...

It was summer. The bright sun shone the heat of air to this busy city. The rhythm of the city was always hot and strong. In the daytime, this city was a place for business, work, studying, but in the night, it was a place for romance, love, relaxation.

But for some people, whether day or night, time was just used for business. Yes, one of those people was Sesshoumaru Taiyoukai. He used most of his time for his family's company and left everything else behind. He didn't bother to find entertainment. Yes, for him, relaxation, love, romance were a waste of time. If he wanted, he would have it, all of it. Especially women, he could have them whenever he wanted.

Who could refuse a man like him? He was handsome, rich, and cool. Everything about him was perfect, except for his cold and emotionless face. But who cared, all of the girls just wanted his money and his appearance. Yes, they were such bitches. Sesshoumaru thought coldly. He believed there was no woman who could be perfect. No one. He smiled evilly.

Suddenly, there was a knocking sound outside the door, interrupting his thought. He looked up.

"Come in."

A girl came in slowly. She was his secretary.

"What is it?" He asked icily.

"Sir, you have a message from Mr.Taiyoukai." she said dryly.

"What did he say?" He sighed, leaning against his chair.

"He said that he wanted you to come back home tonight for the arrangement."

"Okay, I know." Sesshoumaru said as his hands resisted the table. The secretary nodded, turning towards the door.

Sesshoumaru sighed again. The arrangement between the Higurashi family and the Taiyoukai family. A business marriage. He had to marry the daughter of the Higurashi for the power of his father's company. The Higurashi was one of the top corporations in the country. Yes, his too. But if they were enemies in the market-place, it would be dangerous for both of them and for the economics of the country. So that was why they had to build a relationship, and the result was this damn marriage.

Sesshoumaru closed his eyes, and then frowned. Yes, it was time for him to get married, but... He sighed. Who cared? Happiness and love were just illusions to him. This arrangement was nothing to him. It was just an interlink for both companies. Yes, nothing bothered this Sesshoumaru, even marriage. But why did he still feel annoyed? Why?

He sighed heavily, standing up and looked at the glass window. Maybe he needed something new. Or someone who could change his life...
