Grim Reaper by #1SesshomaruLover

Decision

A black hooded man walked down the halls. Thundered roared and lighting flashed. He stopped momentarily to gaze out the window at the sight before him. Lighting flashed, thundered roared, and rain was pouring down. It was like 'cats and dogs', as some people would say.

He turned his gaze back to the castle halls. It was pitch black except for the flashes of lighting that lit it up for a few seconds. The rain could be heard loud and clear. The castle was empty which made the sound of rain echo down the long empty halls.

The sound of footsteps fast approaching.

Someone ran into him and fell back a few steps.

"Gomen," the girl said as she stood up again. She brushed herself off and smiled. "I should have been watching where I was going." She walked in front of him and bowed. "Gomen again." With that said and done she dashed off.

Disappearing into the dark halls.

He held back a sigh and continued walking. He was surprised to even see someone's face here. Let alone a little girl. It wasn't normal for anyone to be walking down these halls at this time of night. Only the people who worked here were to be seen at this time.

'Maybe she worked here. She did seem somewhat familiar.' He shook the thoughts out of his head. Thinking about nonsense wasn't going to help. It would only cloud his thoughts with more questions. Which was something he didn't need at the moment.

After a few more minutes of pondering he approached a door. It had Japanese markings on it. He opened the door without any hesitation.

He entered as he did so the door behind him closed.

"I'm here." He paused. "What did you want?" His golden eyes rested upon an angel figure. She was wearing a white and gold Kimono. It matched perfectly with her shimmering white wings.

She giggled. "I'm glad you're in such a good mood." A smile graced her lips. "I know you're grumpy that I asked you to come here in such gloomy weather." She looked through the window. The thunder and lighting has been as fierce as before. "We have a problem on our hands." Her smile stayed but her voice showed a tint of sadness.

"Having my half-brother tell me to come here was bad enough," his cold voice recalled. What is it that's a problem?" He gazed upon her once again. Only to see her smile slowly fade away and be replaced with a frown.

She turned to face him once again meeting his gaze. "Another one of his plans has come through." A single tear fell from her eyes. She wiped it away and put on a fake smile. "He has killed another."

"What's so sad about another one gone?" he asked, his face emotionless. It's only one what harm will it do?" He looked at her. Her features showed worry. He could smell the worry and fear. He lifted an eyebrow.

She stifled the tears that wanted to fall. Crying would only show weakness. She was not weak! "The one that is becoming cold and dying is one that could have helped us defeat him." She put on another fake smile. He saw right through it though. "I wish we could save her. But now it seems as all hope is lost."

"I guess it's time for me to do my job then?" he asked coldly. She nodded. He walked towards the door, but to only be stopped.

"Be careful," she said as she floated back to the gates. "I better get back to work. Please just be careful I have a feeling he will try something to make sure she dies." He nodded and left after saying three comforting words.

"I'll try Rin."

Her smile faded as he left. She could only hope that he could save her. If he didn't surely enough the world would be in danger. "Sesshomaru..."

"Inuyasha," she called.

A few seconds later a bright white light appeared, and out of it emerged Inuyasha. He to was wearing gold and white. I showed that he was not of the living and one of the dead. An angel as you could put it.

He brushed his hand through his locks of sliver hair. "Hai?" Then he crossed his arms and awaited an answer. "Hurry up oh great Kidoban," he said sarcastically.

"I need you to go get Miroku and bring him here," she replied as she fiddled with her hair. There are some things we need to discuss." He looked at her with a dumfounded look. She sighed. "About Naraku."

"Oh," he said uninterested.

"Your lucky I can keep my temper in tack," she said calmly. Now bring him here so we can talk about the situation at hand. Or would you rather me send you to the great one himself. I'm sure he would have your head. You are his son after all." She smirked. "Or I'm sure your mother would be just as harsh-"

"Fine I'll go just shut up already!" He crossed his arms in defeat.

"I knew you would see it my way."

Inuyasha disappeared into the light again. Rin decided it would be best if she went back to her job. She didn't want to get in trouble. Facing his father or mother for that matter would be bad enough. 'I just hope Sesshomaru can do something.'

"Jaken," she called.

A Green toad appeared in front of her.

"I'm here to serve you." He did a small bow. "What do you want?"

"I give you permission to go past the gate and take this letter to Tomo. She is the guardian of the Underworld. Naraku is scheming something so this letter should keep him at bay for a while." She handed him the letter.

The Golden Gate opened.

"Now go."

"But-"She glared at him. "Hai." He took off. Rin stifled a laugh. Seeing him act all cowardly was amusing. Especially to everyone else. He was entertainment.

"Better get to work."

Kagome lay in her bed in her room. The moon shone brightly through her window. It was a full moon tonight. She could only gaze at its' pure beauty. Tonight, was the night she was going to die.

She got into a car accident on her way home from visiting her dad's grave. She was lucky to still be alive. It has been two whole days since the accident.

She fractured her rib and broke her arm. Her face was full of bruises from the airbag. Her leg got damaged so she couldn't walk on it for a few weeks. But it didn't matter. She wasn't going to last a few weeks.

She was going to die today. That's what the doctors told her. She remembered the faces of her Okaasan, Jiisan, and Otoutosan. They all had tears in their eyes. Even her Jiisan had a few tears.

It hurt her to see them so sad. To see them cry over her. She was also sad. Inside she was breaking up. Tears filled her eyes since she was put into the hospital. But Jiisan insisted that she would die in their home, in her room.

Every thirty minutes one of them or all of them came to visit her. They just stared at her and cried. Cried till they left. Never once has she seen them not crying. Except for her mom. Her mom knew that crying would only make her more upset.

Kagome tried her best to say that everything would be all right. But she knew that her time to go was coming.

Slowly her breathing slowed down. Her heartbeat was slower. The time for her to pass on was coming. Her mom came in. She came up to her daughter's bed and sat down. She clutched her hand tightly in hers. Tears welling up in her mothers eyes.

She smiled at her hoping that she would smile back. She did just that.

"I wish things could have been different," her mom started. I knew that since the day I had you that you would be special. Not like any other." Her mom wiped a tear from her eye and continued. "Your father even said that you were special. He knew that when you grew up you would change this world we live in. Maybe even make peace. I had no doubt about what he said. I thought the same. But now you are going to be taken away from this world."

"Mama don't cry," she croaked. Her voice was sore and when she spoke it hurt. It made her voice sound not normal. "Okaasan..." She lifted her bandaged hand and put it on her mama's. "I'm sorry. I wish I could have done something more. But my carelessness got me into an accident that..."

"Don't speak Kagome," her mom spoke in soft calming voice. Then Jii-san and Souta came in.

She put her hand to her heart. Her breathing was slowly fading away. She was barely breathing. She fell into a state of unconsciousness, which was how she was going to die.

Sesshomaru appeared in front of the house. He took out his scythe and flew up to the girl's room. He watched as her family talked to her. He gazed at the girl. She looked like an ordinary girl. 'Why is she so special?' He shook the thought out of his head and flew into her room.

He was invisible to everyone but Kagome.

"W-who are you?" she asked. She tried to get up and move, but she couldn't. It was as if her body was glued down to her bed. She squirmed, but it was to no avail.

He raised his scythe above her. Just as he was about to strike his sword started to pulsate. He dropped the scythe. He stared at his sword in utter confusion. It had never done this before. Not since he saved Rin at least.

He now had the choice to heal her or kill her. Rin did say that with out her all hope was lost. He unsheathed his sword.

"W-what are you doing?" she managed to say.

"Jaken, you're finally back," Rin said with a smile. I didn't think you would come back. Or survive for that matter." She sighed. 'Maybe I should tell them to keep him next time.'

"Anything else I need to do?" he asked.

She thought for a minute. "Hai, go inform Inuyasha and Miroku. Tell them to go find Sesshomaru right away. Tell them to not kill the girl yet!"

"Y-yes."

"What did you do?" Kagome asked with tears threatening to fall.

"I revived you," was his simple reply. He sheathed his sword. He didn't know why he did. Why did he save her? He wasn't sure. Maybe because she reminded her of Rin. He held back a sigh and he picked up his scythe.

"Who are you?" she asked.

Silence.

"Who are you?" she asked again. Her voice was getting angrier by the second. Silence filled the room. "Can I at least see your face? I want to see the face of the one that saved me."

Sesshomaru turned around. He pulled down the black hood. She stood in awe. He had long silver hair, gold eyes, and a crescent moon mark on his forehead.

'Is he an angel?' Kagome quickly shook the thought out of her head. "Your name?"

He turned to face her completely. "Sesshomaru." Before he had the chance to leave a bright light appeared and two people emerged out of it.

"There you are Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha yelled. The oh so mighty Kidoban has been looking for you. Then she sent us to find you. She told us to tell you not to kill the girl."

"I saved her."

Miroku went up to her and put her hand in his. "Will you have the honor of bearing my children?"

: : SLAP! : :

"No you pervert!" she yelled.

"Miroku, how many times have I told you to not ask that when were on our job?" Silence. "I thought so." He faced his half-brother. "We have to bring her to Rin."

"Why?" his cold voice asked.

"How the damn am I suppose to know?!" he yelled again. I'm just a stupid messenger that gets stuck with a pervert." He crossed his arms.

"Your coming with us," his cold voice commanded.

"You can't make me!" she fought back.

"Get the girl and let's go already," Inuyasha whined. I'm tired of waiting here."

"I have a name you know. It's Kagome KA-GO-ME! I refuse to go with you. Anyway I have a family you know. I'm alive they need me! Not some dead people like you."

"You're coming and as for your family, they think you're still dead," Sesshomaru's cold monotone voice commanded. He disappeared.

'Why me?' She nodded. They all disappeared into the white light.
