"InuYasha. II love you." Kagome said while tears ran down her cheeks like small steady streams.

InuYasha slowly turned around and stared wide eyed at the girl who spoke the words he hasn't heard in over 500 years. This isn't Kagome InuYasha thought to himself. This girl looks sovulnerableso frail InuYasha walked over to Kagome with the expression of deep sorrow. Pleasepleasesay you love me back Kagome repeated over and over in her head.

"KaKagomewhy? Why do you have to love me?" InuYasha said barely loud enough for the tendered hearted Kagome to hear.

Lord Sesshoumaru walked hand in hand with the little child Rin through the pleasant enriched green forest. When he got the scent of his younger dimwitted brother, InuYasha and the flowery scent of the young woman who was always with him.

"Lord-"

"Be quiet Rin."

"But why?" Rin said giving Sesshoumaru the cutest pouting face.

"Because we are going to spy on my incompetent half brother and you must be extremely quiet." Lord Sesshoumaru said to Rin who beamed brightly up to him.

"As long as you carry me!" Rin said as she tugged on Lord Sesshoumaru's hand.

Sesshoumaru was about to answer when his extremely tender ears heard InuYasha's boyish voice. Sesshoumaru nodded in agreement to Rin's request as he placed a finger on his lips to symbolize quiet as he picked Rin up in one swift movement and quickly walked closer to the couple while being far enough for InuYasha not to pick up his scent but close enough to see all the action.

"Kagome, IIwish I had met you before Kikyo. I would have given you my heart intently and never look backbut."

He's not going to turn down this pure girl is he? Sesshoumaru thought to himself, if he does then he's as dumb as dog shit and he doesn't deserve her.

"InuYashajust take me away" Kagome said as she wrapped her arms around InuYasha's narrow shoulders and wept silently in the curve of his neck and left shoulder inhaling the soft scent of his masculinity.

InuYasha's arms became limp at his sides. Kagome please forgive me, I just can't. InuYasha thought to himself as he placed his hands on Kagome's shoulders and slowly pulled away from her sweet body. Still holding on to her shoulders but at arms length as if steadying her; he felt a terrible pain in his torn heart. I rather die than feel this awful pain. InuYasha thought to himself as he closed his eyes, slowly opening them within minutes making himself ready to speak.

"KagomeI'm sorry I can't give you my heart. I just love Kikyo too damn much. I want to die with her because I caused her so much painI don't want you to suffer by loving me. Please Kagome, I will always care and protect you as a noble friend wouldbut I can't care for you the way you want me too, I can only will myself to do that for Kikyo."

Kagome sadly looked into the eyes of the half demon half human who denied his love for her. I'm completely hollow inside Kagome thought to herself. InuYasha gently moved Kagome's bangs from her forehead and soft kissed it as if saying good-bye.

"Come back to the camp when you're ready." InuYasha said exhausted from the emotional experience he just had while turning his back to Kagome and walking away.

Kagome stared in the direction of which InuYasha went even after she couldn't see him anymore. Her knees suddenly buckled from beneath her and she landed hard on her knees on the soft grass. Crying uncontrollably covering her face with her delicate shaking hands for what seemed like an eternity to her. Sesshoumaru stood shocked after witnessing what had just happened. How could he do that to her? Sesshoumaru thought as he glanced at Rin who was crying softly while gazing intently at the torn Kagome who was hunched over on the grass shaking like a scared little bunny that lost its Mother.

"Would you like that human Kagome to be your watcher?" Sesshoumaru said as he gently wiped the tears away from Rin's eyes and cheeks, not understanding why he said that.

Rin nodded and made Sesshoumaru put her back on the ground but still holding onto his hand. They walked up to Kagome, Rin let go of Sesshoumaru's hand and kneeled next to Kagome placing a small arm around Kagome's shaking back due to the crying.

"Miss. Kagome please do not cry." Rin said gently in Kagome's ear.

Kagome lifted her head in great shock as she stared at Rin who was gazing at her with deeply concerned eyes.

"Little Rinwhat are you doing here?" Kagome said finally stopping her sorrowful tears.

"I came becauseI wanted to see you!" Rin said happily as she hugged Kagome.

"I'm glad" Kagome softly said as she got back on her feet still holding onto Rin with great dearness.

"Human." Sesshoumaru said standing in front of Kagome who had her eyes closed.

Immediately Kagome's eyes shot open as she looked at the powerful demon who addressed her as "Human." in a toneless voice.

"SessSesshoumaru?" Kagome asked shakily.

Rin made Kagome put her down and she went to Seehoumaru who without a second thought reached for her hand as if it was the most common thing for a powerful demon such as himself to do.

"Wipe your eyes human Kagome." Sesshoumaru said as he handed her a soft silky light blue handkerchief.

Kagome did as she was told not even thinking about how Sesshoumaru had said her name.

"I see that Rin has taken a fondness to you. Why is that?" Sesshoumaru said in a toneless voice while staring intensely at the once brave Kagome who on several accounts verbally attacked him whenever he irritated InuYasha was now so frail and weak like a tiny leaf that has been beaten to death by the voracious wind.

"Rin and I would sometimes play together." Kagome said in a depressed voice.

"Since InuYasha has recently left you, I'll give you a new purpose in life. One that involves taking care of Rin as if you were her real birth Mother. I have many servants but none that Rin shows closeness to as when she is with you and none that I trust enough to let them take care of her the way she needs to be cared for. You'll live in my castle where you'll actually be needed."

"How long will that be? Before you tire of me? I guess when you had enough of me being there you'll just kill me right?" Kagome spat out angryly.

Ignoring Kagome's pungent words Sesshoumaru was about to respond when Rin squeezed his hand.

"Please Miss. Kagome come live with us. It'll be fun! I promise to be the best daughter ever just for you! No one will make you cry. And I'll love you as much as a daughter should love their Mothers even more! So please come live with us." Rin pleaded.

Kagome gasped at what Rin had said. I should go. I can't go back to InuYasha and the others. I can't go back to the well right now because everyone will make InuYasha come get me. Rin needs meat least I know someone will love me, even though it's not the type of love I wantedbut I do care for Rin dearlybesides InuYasha just washed his hands of me he won't look for me at Sesshoumaru's castle of the Western lands Kagome thought to herself.

"Alright I'll come live with you." Kagome said locking eyes with the handsome Sesshoumaru.
