The Great Betrayal by Inuyasha Heart
One
Sesshoumaru watched Inuyasha's odd group of friends from afar. The group consisted of a demon exterminator, a perverted monk, a kitsune, the hanyou himself and, a miko from the future. Speaking of watching them... Why was he watching them? That question remained unanswered.
The lord of the western lands still didn't know why he allowed his hanyou brother to live. He could have killed him at least a 50 times by now as he watched them. Yet, he did not. 'It's probably because his miko has earned my respect.' he thought wryly. 'And Rin is with me...'

"Come on Inuyasha! Just one week, pleeeeease! I really have to get this test done or I won't be able to go to high school!" Kagome begged.
"For the millionth time bitch, NO! Finding the jewel shards is much more important than some dumb old test. We need the complete jewel so I can become a full demon and can raise my one and only love, Kikyo." Inuyasha said angrily.
A hurt look spread over Kagome's face. "Inuyasha, you realize that if you do that... I'll die..." Than an angry look plastered on her face. "You do realize I have a life outside of feudal Japan you know. And you shouldn't call me such names! Inuyasha, I'm going home. Oh and Inuyasha..."
"Oh no..." Inuyasha moaned.
"SIT!" Kagome screeched. Suddenly, Inuyasha is buried about a foot in the ground, spread eagle. Kagome, instead of running towards the well, ran the opposite direction, silent tears streaming down her face.
'Stupid Inuyasha. Doesn't he know how I feel about him? Doesn't he know that if he wished for Kikyo to live I'd... Die? Inuyasha, I HATE you!' Very suddenly, Kagome stumbled into something solid. "Oh great so now I'm running into trees, just swell." Kagome said bitterly. "I, Sesshoumaru, am no tree." Came a cold voice.
Ever so slowly, Kagome looked up at the impassive face of Sesshoumaru. "I... I... I..." Kagome suddenly fell into a crumpled heap and burst into tears. "First I, get hurt by Inuyasha, now, I'm probably going to get killed by his cold, cruel, heartless brother!" she sobbed. "Why can't anything go right, ever!"
Sesshoumaru was startled by the miko's emotion. Kneeling down, he tilted her chin up with one hand before releasing it with slight disgust. "Miko, you have earned my respect. I never kill the ones I respect. You should not be crying." 'One so beautiful should never be crying.' he said mentally.
