The Journal and a Shocking Truth. by Lady Kubira

Chapter 1

Kagome had never lived in the same neighborhood for more than six months to a year. Her family moved around a lot due to her father's work. She hated moving around since she never had any friends and she was always the new girl in school. It was something she hated because most of the time she would be entering school in the middle of the year and people looked at her strange. She was average height for a freshman. She had blue eyes and her body was not as developed as the other girls in school were. Her long raven hair had electric blue streaks when the light hit it. It was something natural, she never questioned it. Her skin was flawless and pale as if kissed by the moon.

So here she was Kagome Higurashi, the new girl yet again. Her father had just taken a position as a drill instructor at a local training camp. It was the first time she had not had to live on base. Her parents purchased a nice size house in a beautiful neighborhood. Most of the houses were large and the largest of them had a wall around it with large iron gates. There was a crest on it like a crescent moon with a dog on it. Kagome noticed it walking by on her way to her new school. She was glad that she did not have to wear uniforms to this school. So she decided to wear a pair of hip-hugger black jeans, a white baby tee with angel wings on the back of the shirt. She had on some silver hoop earrings and her sneakers were black just like her jeans. She had her hair loose to stop at mid-back. Her book-bag was black with silver stars on it.

Walking onto the school grounds she looked around. It was nothing new to her. She saw the normal groups hanging out together. She just inspected each group as she passed by to the school. Once inside she went to the counselor's office to pick up her schedule. The bell had rung for the students to go to their classes. She had just received her schedule and still needed to stop by her assigned locker. Hurrying past the lockers trying to wind through the other students she finally came upon her locker. Looking at the combination she twisted the lock and frowned when the locker didn't open. After two more tries she let out a cry of frustration.

"Some of these lockers suck."

Kagome turned around to a pair of golden eyes and long silver-gray hair. The male took the paper and put the combination in. He hit it and the locker opened. She smiled as he handed the paper back to her. "Thanks."

"No Prob, You new here?"

Kagome nodded as she put some of her books away into the locker. She then closed it and looked at her schedule. "My name is Kagome, and you are?"

"Inuyasha. So what class are you headed to?"

Kagome groaned, "Algebra two."

Inuyasha laughed, "What teacher?"

Kagome looked at the schedule again, "Mrs. Kinley."

Inuyasha took her hand and pulled her away from her locker, "I have her, She sucks." They made it just as the bell had rung. Inuyasha let go of Kagome's arm and went to the back of the classroom to his seat. Kagome stood there as the teacher came up to her. "Hello, You must be Kagome Higurashi."

Kagome smiled, "Yes ma'am."

The teacher looked around the class and frowned, "The only seat is next to Mr. Taisho. Don't let him corrupt you."

Inuyasha looked shocked at the teacher, "Oh come now Mrs. Kinley, I'm not that bad! You know you love me!"

Kagome bit her lip holding in her giggle as she made her way to the seat next to Inuyasha. Once she sat down the teacher began with her lesson plan. As she was trying to pay attention, Inuyasha threw a note on her desk. Kagome picked up the note and looked around then looked up at the teacher. Once the teacher turned her back she opened the note and read it:

Hey, Just wondering but what other classes do you have?

Kagome copied down her schedule and then waited for the teacher to turn her back. She passed the note back to Inuyasha whom in turn read it before replying and passing the note back to Kagome. Kagome waited again then opened the note and read it.

Nice, I have most of those classes. I hate history though. That class is a mix of us freshmen and some sophomores. I'll introduce you to some of my friends.

Kagome smiled and looked at Inuyasha, she nodded to him and then put the note away. The rest of class she took her notes and once class was finished she packed up as Inuyasha stood next to her. Kagome smiled at him, "Are you always this nice or is this some kind of front?"

Inuyasha gasped in mock surprise, "Now Kagome, I am always nice. How can you believe such a cranky old woman?"

Kagome shook her head as they walked to their history class. "So what is history like?"

"Boring."

"Oh come on, It can't be that bad. I mean your a Hanyou, I bet your family dates back that far."

Inuyasha rubbed the back of his neck, "You could say that."

Once they got to class Inuyasha sat down at a table with another female and male. There was an empty chair and they gestured for her to sit down. Inuyasha looked to his other friends, as did Kagome. The girl that was there had straight dark brown hair and chocolate colored eyes. She had her hair up in a high ponytail and was wearing a pair of blue hip-hugger jeans with a black spaghetti strap shirt. The male had blue eyes and black hair in a small ponytail. He had an earring in his right ear. He wore a purple shirt and black baggy jeans. Inuyasha spoke up to them.

"Hey guys, This is Kagome, she is new here. Kagome this is Sango and Miroku."

"Hi." Kagome said.

Miroku got a sly look on his face, as he was about to say something the girl, Sango, smacked him upside his head. He frowned and turned to look at Sango who was looking at Kagome. "Hey, Sorry he is a lecher."

Before Kagome could say anything else the warning bell rang and Kagome looked up at the door as some older students came in. One of them caught her eye. It wasn't only because he was hot but the fact that his hair was silver, more like moonlight than Inuyasha's silver-gray. It had like bluish highlights in it. He had the same golden eyes but he had pointed ears, not dog-ears like Inuyasha. He had stripes on his cheeks and wrists, as well as a crescent moon on his forehead. He sat down at the table next to them with some other older students. A guy with his black hair in a high ponytail. He had blue eyes and boyish looks. His tail was swaying behind him. He was clearly an Ookami. The other guy was a youkai though you could not tell what he was.

The teacher stood from his desk as the final bell rang. He looked around the class taking attendance and stopped on Kagome. "You must be Ms. Higurashi."

Kagome looked up, "Hai, I mean... Yes."

"Japanese?"

Kagome felt her cheeks heat up, "I lived in Japan for six months. It was required to know the language and some of my family is from Japan."

The teacher nodded, "Well that is nice, We are currently studying Ancient Japan."

Kagome nodded and opened her notebook. The teacher opened his lesson plan, "Okay, So it is said that major demonic activities were associated with the Feudal Era in Japan."

Kagome raised her hand and the teacher looked at her. "Yes Ms. Higurashi?"

"Sorry to interrupt you sir, but you use the term 'demon' as I know the translation says that youkai means demon is English it is not so. Youkai are supernatural beings. They are not demons as they are not all evil. The activities of youkai were all over the world and not centered on Japan. It is proven that youkai were here far before humans were."

The teacher crossed his arms and looked at Kagome. She looked around and noticed that everyone was looking at her. The teacher then set down his books, "Well, what are your references?"

"My family has many scrolls that date back to before the feudal era. I stayed at my family shrine while in Japan on the weekends and learned as much as I could. I'm sorry I just don't like the fact that they are referred to as demons because of the low level youkai and oni they have been all categorized as demons and they are not."

The teacher merely looked at Kagome before someone else spoke up, "The girl is right, Youkai are not merely demons but supernatural beings. Mostly animals."

Inuyasha made a growling sound, "Keh, No one asked for your two cents."

Kagome looked at the other silver haired male, He merely narrowed his eyes at the Hanyou, "Your comment was not nessary, I merely backed up the girl's information."

"I stand corrected then. I will try and not refer to youkai as demons. Thank you Mr. Taisho for your confirmation, and you Mr. Taisho, Inuyasha I do not want another fight breaking out between you and Sesshoumaru."

Inuyasha crossed his arms, "Fine."

The teacher picked up his book, "Now I hope you all read up on what you needed to. There were four Lords that split up Japan into four territories. The North, South, East, and West. Now out of the four Lord's which was the most famous?"

Kagome raised her hand and looked around to see that no one else raised his or her hand. The teacher looked around surprised. "I see no one bothered to read up on it. Be assured it will be on your test. Ms. Higurashi, Go ahead and answer the question."

Kagome put her hand down and nodded, "The Inu-No-Taisho was the most famous Taiyoukai in Japan. He stopped many wars and kept peace in his territory that was the Western Lands, Now known as Kyoto. To this day he is still the most powerful."

The teacher looked at Kagome for a moment, "I see, Well your correct. Something else you learned while at your family shrine?"

Kagome nodded, "Yes, The true form of the Inu-No-Taisho was a giant white dog. He was also known as the Great Dog General."

Inuyasha stared at Kagome as he listened about his father from her. It was weird how much she knew of his family and his father. Once class finished Kagome packed up her things and put on her backpack. It was time for lunch and she was really hungry. Walking to the door with Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango she realized she forgot one of her notebooks.

"Hey I'll catch up to you guys. I forgot my notebook."

They nodded and kept going as Kagome went back to where she was sitting. She looked around wondering where her notebook went until someone held it out for her. "I believe this belongs to you."

Kagome looked up at the person and smiled, "Thank you."

As she took the notebook the person raised a brow, "You know much about the Western Lands."

Kagome nodded, "Hai, My ancestor was a Priestess in the western lands and traveled to the Palace a lot. She recorded it all."

"What else do you know?"

Kagome looked up at the male, "I'm sorry but I have to go. Bye." Kagome turned and left the room heading towards the cafeteria. Sesshoumaru stood in the room for a moment longer before shrugging his shoulders. He picked up his bag and left to go and eat lunch. Kagome entered the lunchroom and found Inuyasha in line. He nodded to her and lets Kagome skip him. There were a few protests but they didn't last long.

"Hey Kagome, What are you doing Saturday?"

Kagome thought for a moment, "I just have some unpacking to do. Why?"

"Wanna come over to my house?"

Kagome looked at Inuyasha for a moment, "Sure, I guess."

Once getting lunch they went to a table and sat down. Inuyasha had left a seat next to him open. Kagome looked at Sango and Miroku who were talking about something. Inuyasha was looking around so Kagome just went to the task of eating her lunch. After a few minutes a really cute looking male came over. He had his black hair shoulder length, he had striking green eyes. He could be considered really hot. He sat down next to Inuyasha. Inuyasha smiled at him and leaned over kissing him on the cheek quickly. Kagome blushed as she quickly gripped the situation. Inuyasha and this really good-looking guy were a couple.

Kagome looked around and it seemed no one really knows or they just don't care. "Hi, I'm Jesse."

Kagome brought out of her thoughts smiled, "Kagome, It's nice to meet you."

"How do you like it here so far? Is it different from the last place you lived?"

Kagome smiled, "It's different a little but I really enjoy it here. I don't get too attached though because I never know when my father might get transferred."

Inuyasha nodded, "That sucks."

Jesse looked at the clock and stood up, "Well I got to go, You going to Yasha's tomorrow?"

Kagome nodded and Jesse smiled, "Well, See you there."

Kagome thought for a moment. It was stupid to start school on a Friday but here she was invited over someone's house already. Inuyasha looked over at Kagome and she looked back. "Um, I know what you saw. It's a secret so don't say nothing, Okay?"

Kagome nodded, "Yeah sure. No problem."
