Chapter One: The Missing Daughter Part I

It all started about a month ago, when my father showed up after abandoning my mother and I back when I was too young to remember. My mother tried to convince me to stay with him for my upcoming junior year in high school. Of course I agreed and unforeseen I was about to make the first mistake of my life, but in fact it wasn't a mistake.(Although it started in first person the rest of the story will be in third person with the exception of commentaries from Kagome;like the above.)

"Come on Kagome! It's all you! Push it in strong!" the track coach yelled enthusiastically as Kagome came up on the last 100 meters of her 800 meter race.

"Don't let her catch you! Pump your arms!" Sango screamed from the bleachers. She had just finished her race and sat with the rest of the team who wasn't stretching for the next race. Sango and Kagome had been best friends since freshman year, and Sango was the one to recruite Kagome on to the team. They went through rigorous training together which benefited them in achieving the new school record for the 400 meter relay.

Kagome crossed the finish line and rendered victorious once again. She wasn't cocky like must star athletes. Although she wasn't one to brag, she gained a lot of attention, but the females stayed clear. They would only spread gossip and give her jealous looks all the time. The only one the girls of the school hated more than Kagome was Kagura.That was only because of the mere fact that she was Sesshomaru's girlfriend. Sesshomaru was the quarterback of the football team and also a captain of the basketball team. Despite his athletic abilities and impassiveness he allured a lOt of attention. Many wondered why he would let a bitch like Kagura hang on his arm, but that still remains unknown.

A week had past since Inuyasha broke up with Kagome to be with Kikyo, who was Kagome's older sister by a year who lived with her father for the past years. Since then, Kouga has been hovering around more often trying to make it seem like he was avaliable when he knew he was with Ayame, a red head from the soccer team, but he still tried. As Kagome and Sango left the track meet they were stalled by Kouga.

"Hey Kagome! You did great out there today!How bout I take ya out tonight and show ya a good time, something that mutt couldn't do,"Kouga spoke confidently as he took Kagome's hand in his.

"I would love to but..." Kagome was cut off by the now flaming red head.

"Kouga!What are you doing? The only reason I came to this stupid track meet was because you promised to take me out tonight. Now let's go," she pulled Kouga's hand away from Kagome and dragged him to the car. She was really a nice girl, but she didn't like Kouga associating with other females the way he did with Kagome.

"Well Kagome I guess I'll see you later. I have a date with Miroku and I need to get ready. Hopefully he won't pull something stupid like last time. Miroku and that hand of his caused a scene last time we went out," Sango informed Kagome.

" Alright then Sango, I need to do some studying anyways," she lied. Once Sango pulled off she made her way to her car and sat in the driver's seat with the door open.

'Inuyasha...why did you have to be so secretive? Why couldn't you just tell me the truth? Maybe that way... it wouldn't hurt so bad. Hm... and of all people it just had to be Kikyo. I use to wonder why people would mistaken me as her when she wasn't even in this area. How do Inuyasha and Kikyo even know each other then?'

Kagome wasn't paying attention but she was being observed by the most unlikely person or should I say demon.

'So she's still stuck up over that half-breed. Ever since he left her alone she's been found staring into space, and Kagura's up to something, but I have yet to figure it out,' her observer watched her with little interest at the time. It was his job to watch her, but he wasn't the only spectator.

'I was correct in my analyzes, she is Kikyo's sister therefore Mikoto's missing daughter. All these years and she'll finally be put away and we'll be one step closier to obtaining the sacred treasure Mikoto has in safe keepings. Once she's gone, her abilities she has yet to grasp can't obstruct our path to gain absolute power. I won't fail you this time master.'

Kagome drove out of the parking lot still deep in thought oblivious to the fact that she was being followed.'Hmm. at least I'm not being called Kikyo any more. I still don't understand why my father wants me around now. If Kikyo was once at this school and that being the reason why I was mistaken as her then that means father was in this area before and it wasn't that long ago. Why didn't he come get me then? Somethings not...' Kagome's eyes enlarged as she caught her breath in her throat."Oh shit!"
